While I know there is quite a bit of info on here already, I have searched for it and can't find a straight answer.

I have a 2012 reg cab 4x4 all stock except for 265/75-16 tires. I want to lift it up some and level it in the process. I have decided I want to do it right and not do spacers or blocks. I plan on doings bilstein 5100 in the front and an AAL in the rear. I understand that the 5100 goes up to 2.5 in the front. My question is, what do I need to order size wise for the AAL? I had planned to set the front at 2.5 but I don't know what the rear needs to be. I don't mind so much if there is still a slight nose down rake but I will not accept a nose up rake. I keep seeingn different answers on this topic.

So to recap: 5100s in fornt at 2.5, what do I order for the rear?
    Thanks

Most people on here that go with 2.5 in the front go 1.5 in the rear. Although most of the info you find on here is for DC trucks. Standard cab may be a little different but I doubt it would be that much. Most go with a progressive 3 leaf aal. The 3 leaf aal's are said to give a much better ride than the old single leaf style. I would park the truck on level ground get your floor jack and tape measure and see what it looks like. Measure from the ground up to the fender well right in the center of the wheel. Raise the front 2.5 then get another jack if you have it and see what you need in the rear to get it setting where you like it. You can find the aal that every one likes at wheelers.com, all pro.com and there are a few other places. Search 1.5 progressive aal. Hope this helped!

Also I have the 5100's I went with different coils. Some will tell you that preloading your factory coils to 2.5 will give you a horrible ride. Others say it's fine. In general most will tell you to look at after market coils though. I went with Old Man Emu coils, Eibachs are also very popular. But be careful before you order and make sure you get the correct spring rate for your truck. Dual cab trucks need heavier spring than Access cabs and Accsess cabs need heavier springs than Standard cabs. And also factor in if you have an off road bumper, winch or any other armor. It will cause your truck to sag.

I did the OME 885 coils with Billies set at 0 and did a 1"block in the rear with TSB leaf pack. It has 1" of rake.

I like the look of both of those! I was thinking 1.5 in the rear. Also when I order my bilsteins I noticed it mentions bushings and washers, do I need those? I was thinking it was direct plug and play

They should come with all the hardware. Shouldn't need any thing extra. Probably just offering them as replacement parts.

Try wheelers.com, all pro.com. Wheelers aal is the most recommended.

To get a good idea for what your truck needs measure the difference from front to back. Center of hub to fender. The difference between the 2 will give you a close idea of what you will want. The bilsteins actual lift is very close to their lift numbers. Same with the AALs. The only thing that may be off is whether your suspension is really worn out.

Is that supposed to be wheelers off road?
Also what's this about vibrations and needle bearings I found last night?

Yes wheelers off road. Some people get a vibe after raising the front. All kinds of reading on that issue. Mine has it. Just gotta do what you think is best. Every one has a different opinion on what causes it and what fixes it and from what ive read most of the time you cant do any thing to solve the problem other than let it down. Its very common and some what the nature of the beast. Some get vibes after lifting the rear as well but those seem to be an easy fix. Im no expert but after a lot of research thats where im at on the issue.

I wish i could answer this for you because i would like to know the answer myself. There isnt much out here on whether or not it does harm. Im sure just like every thing else some will say it does and some will say it dosent. My guess is most people never even realize they have the issue because a lot of people lift their truck to fit those "big mud tires" and with rough tires you wouldnt even know it was there. Most probably think its their tires. I love the way mine looks, i have gone over it several times. There is nothing done wrong. I have been a mechanic for 15 years (not a Toyota mechanic though). All that being said, im going to drive it. If it dosent progress im just going to pretend it dosent bother me! Lol:D

No not at 2.5. You will be fine. At 3" and over you will run in to brake line length issues.
