    Taxi drivers are evil

Uber & Lyft corporation are evil because the drivers get screwed.

So it's a toss up who is worse.

Getting robbed seems to be a point raised by several people.

Uber and Lyft passengers have already registered with the company and provided a credit card which provided a credit profile. There is no cash ever involved in the process unless a passenger drops a cash tip on you which is advised against by the company. Uber and Lyft never pick up people that aren't registered with the service and have provided an approved credit card in advance.

My Taco gets good enough mpg for this to work on paper - so yes, a 30mpg car would give more profit, but also the process these services use means we don't "roam" for fares. Sit in a Starbucks in the area YOU want to work and respond when pinged.

3 bottles of scotchgard applied to seats and carpeting - also have the all weather mats. Puking is something that will happen - what's socially good about the service is it can help reduce DUI's, of course that means a lot of the customers will be drunk. My daughter threw up in every car I've had several times. If she isn't in the front seat she gets motion sickness. Since she was safer in the back seat for crash threat, she stayed in the back until she was about 12 and large enough to be safe with the seatbelts.

I know its a crap shoot - no investment needed to give it a try - Phoenix is a huge tourist metro area about 6 months a year.

With my daughter starting college in August, I'd like to give this a try as well as insulate myself against catastrophe should my company shift directions. I have a very good day job, but its a 10 person company. A company this small doesn't have the elasticity for managing economic challenges and i'm LIFO... Last in so probably first out.

Good point - that was a roll-out to get noticed... Since they're being fought by unions in a lot of cities they're starting to not even want you to use it. I won't be using it. The government for one isn't too happy with the whole arrangements - example being at the airport, Taxi's pay a big access fee.
