Good grief, lol. There are some high points in there - the MEC presses, the RCBS scale, the Sierra bullets...if you knew whet you had you could probably sell everything individually and get $500 out of all that? Just a WAG. If you're not a reloader I'd say put $300 on the group and make someone take it all and sort it out themselves. Someone would like a project like that I'm sure.

We 458 Socom owners have located a new bullet we have never tried. It holds some promise as being one of the go to bullets for the 458 SC. Shorter and lighter than our beloved FTX 325 grain bullet. it is from Nosler and they were originally designed for muzzle loaders and put in 50 caliber sabots. These were blemished bullets so we got them cheaper for $11.10 per (25) count box. We jumped all over the first batch we saw and now some how more of them are showing up for us to purchase. They raised the price too by $3 a box once they saw their popularity.

The orange tipped round in the center is the new bullet. Left to right: 300 grain solid copper Barnes TTSX, 300 grain Nosler BTMZ bullet sans the sabot, 325 grain Hornady FTX bullet.

Plinking trip yesterday; shot (46) rounds in one session, the most ever in 2 1/2 years at one time. ( That is like shooting (46) 20 gauge rounds, weight wise )

Good lord, I'll second the above price, I'd ask 500 for all of it then take offers, also remember though that hello brass scraps for around $1.50 per pound, though you can get more from reloaders. If you were closer I'd buy a lot of the components from you

I can't really see what you're talking about, but as I look at the different VLD bullets I have on hand, none of them have any sort of imperfections anywhere on the jacket. I don't have any Berger hunting bullets, though.

Way too many to list, but there are many different places to look. Here is a good place to start:

Funny, a Berger bullets reloading technician just told me that many many bullets from all manufacturers, including small batch custom ones, all have the marks on them. They run from just shy of the tip to just before the bullet goes full diameter. I was told they are from the drawing of the bullet jacket up to the tip. Said its nothing to be concerned about. I still have my doubts.

Well, he could be right, but I have a shelf full of match and varmint bullets, and I've yet to see any of these marks. I would think that anything marked VLD would be the last place I'd expect to find imperfections. Especially with the prices they charge for those things.

Thats what I was thinking. I went through a few of my other boxes as well and found no imperfections. Not even on the cheap stuff. I posted a thread on reloadersnest.com and got a couple responses verifying its a regular thing and to shoot just shoot them. unless they shoot considerably better than the Hornady 105gr A-Max, I won't be buying them again. Just seems its something that could be worked out of the mfg process but Berger doesn't care to since no other makes show the markings. For what they cost, I kind of expect a nearly flawless bullet? Maybe my expectations are too high.

I went through my Hodgdon Tite Group phase, but recently started using Vihta Vhouri for my .45 loads. For some reason the 200gr loads seem to shoot very soft, accurate, and clean- good stuff for competition. I started off with 310, but went to 320 for a little slower burn.

I had a 10.5" 458 SOCOM upper years ago when Marty was still making them (heard he stopped, did he?) Now I really wish I kept it. Ammo cost were just hard to justify.

Marty was offered a job overseas he just could not refuse and has been there for a couple of years now. He handed over his production to SBR in Georgia. They make his barrels and bolts. He also did have an agreement with a few others as well like RRA, Tromix. All three of these are still in business at max capacity. Tromix is filling orders for barrels and bolts within days now. He is the fastest game in town right now. The others have backlogs. Mine is an RRA complete rifle. Not one problem whatsoever in (953) rounds downrange.
