    Chickenmunga,

I know this is a old thread but do you have a pic with the new square washer.
I believe telco slang name is a bug.

Since installing that first set, I found a better mount using 1 1/3" carriage bolts, a special square washer, cut washer, lock washer, and nut:

    IMG_2150_de5c70972ddac58fa1a74118c81caf482628b803.jpg IMG_2151_3664a1390a849611c17613b4a9f0f6682acdfa18.jpg

However, that square washer isn't sold in stores, it's specially made for hanging electrical wire to telephone poles. I did a massive search (I thought a unistrut bolt would do the trick, but those don't come in the right size), so if you find anything in an over the counter solution, please post up.

I'm not sure what you are asking me for? Those pics are the ones I personally took

    Sorry,

I meant a picture attached to the rail.

So the square plate fits the rail without any modding?

yup. It isn't a tight fit but slips in just fine.
It's dark right now so I'll try a pic tomorrow

Here's what I used to attach a couple rocky mounts to the bed rail (All hardware is stainless steel to resist corrosion and cost me about $6 total to attach both mounts)

    (2) 1/4-in-20 x 1-1/2-in hex bolts
    (2) 1/4-in flat washers
    (2) 1/4-in locking washers
    (2) 1/4-in unistruts, I removed the spring w/ a pair of pliers.

The unistruts were a little tricky to find... Lowes & Ace Hardware didn't have them, found them @Home Depot electrical department in bags of 5x for $4.

I just used ziggygaggy's method for mounting similar style bike mount brackets. Perfect! Thanks.

I used to mount my bikes to the rail but had to switch it up when I got a topper. I took a piece of scrap 2x6, cut it to fit snug in the bed, and bolted the bike mounts to it. If I need to haul something I just lift the board out.

I went to Lowes yesterday & picked up the 3/8" Unistruts @ 5/$4 (they called them Superstruts), 3/8" Fender washers @ 55 cents/ea., and some 3/8" eye hooks. I had to cut down about 4 threads on the eye hooks w a Dremel. Works like a charm!
    Look just like this mounted:
Unistrut slides in the rail track & place Fender washer over cut-down eye hook; compress spring with washer & the bolt threads right in. Hand tighten.
I now have 10 new tie-downs for less than $25.

I will take some pics when I get home and post.
