Hi guys, had my mechanic out in new skyjacker leaf packs today no problem. I also purchased two new Bilstein 5100's for the front. The issue with the 5100's is that he said when he tried there was not enough threads on the too of the strut. Anyone have similar issues?

Are the spring perch put on correctly and what type of springs are they. If the springs are oem top notch will work but if aftermarket the perch has to be on the lowest setting.A picture of the product would help us determine whats going on

Line-X bed liner, bug shield, Bilstein 5100's all around(set at 2.5 on stock springs), Toytec adjustastable shackle, Westin nerf bars, JVC head unit,4 Polk Audio speakers (db 571's)
Bilstein 5100's are the correct strut. I just put them on my '02 & have them on the highest setting with my stock springs. I think the original struts are 4600's (or Bilstein/ Toyota comparable).

he needs to compress the spring more for the nut to reach the thread, either that or he had a perch up side down

Is it possible I need more than what came from Bilstein? All I received was the shock with the perch. Do I also need bushings or washers?

that is what I received. I don't have a pic of the actual one as I'm on shift at the firehouse and don't have my truck. It also came with. The perch for the spring to sit on

if you have the spring perch and the top nut thats pictured in the link you posted then he should be able to get the coil on. Like others have said, your mechanic either has the perch upside down or he hasnt compressed the coil enough. Ive seen others put the spring perch on upside down and they were still able to get the coil mounted so I think he's probably not compressing the coil enough.

Make sure the old rubber washer is not stuck under the perch or top hat.
I had that problem doing the install with the LCA method . I could not get the shaft thru high enough to put the top rubber washer steel washer and nut on.
I did not realize old rubber washer was stuck up inside.

Would it be worth it to spend the $20 and just get a new set from wheelers?

Did the bilsteins not come with new washers and bushings? If not then yeah it wouldn't hurt but it's probably not causing the issue the mechanic is having.

    part #’s = Driver side rear F4-BE5-D559-TO
    Pass.. side rear F4-BE5-D560-TO

Here's the link to wheeler's off-road. Their Prices are a little cheaper than toytec but if you were to call around I'm sure you'd get the best price because most stores can discount their prices, that's been my experience at least.
