Anyone have a dealer take care of the melting DRL's here local yet?
My son's 09 is getting pretty bad.
I know some dealers seem to be more TSB friendly than others.
I hate to just do the trial and error method.

I go to Big Two Toyota and I have had no luck there. I am looking for anyone in AZ that has gotten this done but I have over 80k miles now but I believe that we can get this done if quite a few get together at one dealership.

TSB's only apply under the warranty period, so unless you have an extended warranty on it... you're pretty much out of luck.

However, headlights are cheap for these so... there's that.

Anzo's are better but about $220.

These work just fine, just run an extra bead of silicon around the edge before install to ensure they don't leak moisture (do it with the Anzo too)

Also if you want to keep the DTRL wired up, I'd probably switch to LED bulbs instead so they're cooler and don't melt stuff again.

Toyota recently extended that TSB's warranty coverage. I don't know the exact milage, but typically when Toyota does an extension, they go to 150K miles or 10 years I believe. I will try to find out for sure. Give me a minute.

Just had mine replaced at camelback Toyota with the extended enhancement on the dtrl TSB. If I remember right, it is unlimited mileage if you have it done before 11/15/15.

    Outstanding,
Did you bring in the TSB? Did they fight it at all?
Do you remember which service writer you met with?
    I appreciate the help sir!

I brought the TSB in and met with Todd Adams. They took the truck back and verified the lenses were distorted, and then installed the new lights.

    Well I finally did it.
Called Todd on Tues. I had the kids truck doing an oil change for him.
Todd was super busy and could not get it in but would call Wed. morning.
8:30 he called to check vin.# and said he needed to see the lenses.
I got a 9:45 appt. and headed in.

He had to do the Toyota dance with some paperwork and did have a set there.
So about 1:00 Pm he says OK all done for free.
They look great and Todd was easy to deal with.

    Thanks again Rashnu!!!!

Did not know there was a TSB for this until speaking with a fellow Taco owner at the gas station today. The DRL lenses are melted and cracked on my 2010 DC so decided to call the dealership to see if I could get the issue fixed. The service adviser told me to stop by for an inspection...An hour or two later and a call to the Toyota warranty department, the dealership agreed to replace my headlights housings and all free of charge including a car wash!!!
