Perfect solution right there. Legal, and Moral.

That is not the point. The point is that there are so many people that DO that, that the cost for the company is in the thousands of dollars range.

No no, I'm not saying $20 isn't a lot for the company. I'm saying that the tools he needs would be like $20 for him to buy and keep. Is it really worth it to go back and return them? Don't go out to eat for a week..bam, $20.

Can't you just cut off the storage lock and put a new one on?

So you'll only ripoff a company if it's large but not a mom & pop? You're just punching a stranger in the dark instead of looking 'em in the eye.

OP, if you wanna go the right route maybe go to Advanced Auto or somewhere and ask to borrow a tool. But no one's perfect and do what our conscience will allow.

The problem with that is if his name is not on the lease for the storage building, the storage building company can arrest him for B&E.

The best solution has been presented: Go to Advance auto and use their tool loan program.

Okay I decided I will either rent the tools, borrow the tools or purchase them.

In fairness to me though, I have bought many tools from this place before. Returning the tools still allows for the company to sell them again.

Now I just have to figure out how to install this part by myself.......

You can always use extra tools. Go buy them and start on your 'truck tool bag'

No local tw members? Hit up your regional thread and make friends. I know in my region there are plenty of guys willing to lend a hand or tools. Then you're not on your own.

Then you're selective like me. I'm antisocial. Better to have 5 good friends than 20 so called friends.
