I'm pretty sure you should be fine without the UCA's. I may be wrong though...

The reason I am in doubt about the UCAs is I have a neighbor (queer as a 3 dollar bill so I know hw does no off roading) who had a 2010ish prerunner who has a set on stock toyota rims that he drive only on the street. These are nitto Terra Grapplers by th way. You can see on the UCA a ahint spot from rubbing and you can't even fit your hand between the tire and the UCA.
MY concern is do I need the extra caster/camber/alignment issue type stuff new UCA will afford me? Will leavin stock UCAs cause wear issues? Will the new UCAs make new BFGs last longer. Mine too is a mall crawler if that matters.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge,
    Adam

you only need new UCA's if your going over 3". Your neighbor was probably running too big of a tire or had other issues. But you should only need new UCA's if you are going to a three inch lift. You are going to be at 2.5 so you can run stock UCA's.

What size tires is your neighbor running?

With 285s, you will also probably rub the UCA if you're on stock wheels. It's all in the backspacing. If you don't want to get wheels, you can run spacers for now.
