Yeah 38k for a 2wd FJ is a lot, but it's got a shit ton of money in it. I would have parted it out for sure.

I'd say "never" is a stretch. When I was a kid, my dad used to buy unfinished muscle cars and old motorcycles, put a few thousand dollars into them, then sell them for more than double what he paid for them. New vehicles with no nostalgic value may never get to that point.

LOL I had no idea he was there either? What truck was his?

Anyway.....my plans for Pismo fell through this morning. I have a friend from the East Coast who drives a Jeep that is visiting, and wants to see what offroading is like on the West Coast. Anybody want to hit up a local spot? Santiago, Lytle Creek, Bear, Barstow.....heard about some dunes in Rialto??

    Let me know.

Not never but for the most part you are correct. My first car I bought for $300 spent maybe $100 to fix it and sold it about a year later I think for $1000. but still this car didn't go up in value, I just bought it at a great deal and was able to sell it for more.

Some cars appreciate in value but those are collector cars.

So speaking of cars, its nice to dream. With the Ferrari F360 and Lamborghini Gallardo near affordable prices or a Corvette C6 Z06 (which is faster stock) which would you chose? I've always wanted a Ferrari.

    Vette Z06 about 45-55k
    Ferrari 360 about 60-80k
    Gallardo about 90-120K
