    Hello all,

Ive bought a tacoma 4 door SB without knowing much about tacomas. the truck is a 2006 model and has the TRD stickers on the back but doesnt have fog lights, jbl stereo or power plug in bed. Is there a sure way for me to determine if this truck is really a TRD, Thanks

If it is a TRD offroad, you will have a button for the e-locker.

The other way to find out is to order a Car Fax report using the trucks VIN. That will tell you everything about it.

A Toyota dealer parts department could probably tell you for free when they look up your VIN to order parts.

JBL is optional. Not all TRDs have it. I didn't think there were power plugs in the bed either until 2012, but I could be wrong on that. Call toyota with your VIN. They should have no problem telling you. There's probably other ways, but thats what I'd do.

TRD off-road's have e-lockers. I'm not sure about the sport. Check for an e-locker button...

no fog lights and no power outlet... I would say it's not a TRD, not really things someone would remove.

Don't worry though, over time you can make your truck better than a TRD :D

Did you pay for a TRD Offroad? You can put stickers on anything. buyer beware (aware).

Is it 4wd? Then it's a trdoffroad. But there are the base prerunner, SR5, Sport, and TRD off-road with e-locker. Mine is and sr5 and doesn't have elocker but I have a long bed and fog lights and 4wd.

Mine also has TRD Off-road stickers, but has an sr5 badge in the tailgate.

4x4 doesn't make it trd. 4x4 with elocker make it trd.
They have base 4x4 without elocker like what you have.

But what I'm getting it is that if it's 4x4 SR5 or real TRD Off-road, it will have TRD Off-road stickers. You are correct I have an SR5, but when I first got mine, I wasn't sure if I had a real TRD Off-road with blue/yellow 4600 billies or just a base 4x4. It can be confusing for a first timer. :D
