On my 2008, the "push in" lighter is screwed up, gets jammed into the socket. Is there a way of buying another power outlet (as what is on the passenger side) and install it where the "push-in" lighter outlet is??

Have you just simply tried a new lighter in the current socket?

When I pull it out, (forcefully), the ring comes with it, since it was screwed up, I figured taking out the assembly and replacing it with another "power outlet with cover would look better..since I don't smoke

Why not just buy a plastic cover to put over the outlet? Or even cheaper... just leave the outlet open.

Sure there is but your going to pay. One of my other tacomas had the cover break and toyota doesn't sell just the cover you have to buy the complete power assembly.

To answer your question, yes, you can replace it with another 12v socket. That's what I did with my 2008. I found another socket and grey cover at a wreckers.
