That's the exact one that I purchased from Advance Auto. It works great however, the Mobil1 grease that is loaded in there tends to separate and leak out of the grease gun (maybe a table spoon of thinner liquid grease). Not sure if the issue is the grease or the gun, but it still works great. I just keep grease gun in a plastic bag to prevent making a mess on the garage floor. For the $20.00 i spent on it I'm pretty happy.

I also get a tiny bit of leakage from the breather valve (also with Mobil One). I just store it on a rag as it doesn't accumulate very much at all. I did put some thread sealant on all the part before I assembled....that seems to have prevented any leaks from the actual threads.

That flexible tip is really handy for those hard to reach zerks on the front drive shaft.

I went for my brake actuator recall work, and asked to have the driveshaft u-joints greased and it was done at no charge. My first time at dealership with the (used) truck.

Other: I managed to get a complain in writing about the damn leaf springs... I feel better now!

That one is a pita. I made an extension with a bend on the end to get to it.

Is there anyway you can post a pic of where they are at. I might start doing this aswell because i have a feeling the stealership never does mine and say they do or just check off the box.
Not sure if there in the same location for the 2010 4x4 v6.

I just purchased this exact grease gun last night at O'Reilley's. Today I jacked up my truck, crawled under it and spent a decent amount of time cleaning off all 8 zerks on my front and rear driveshafts/u-joints. Had them looking all nice. So then I went to actually put some grease in them, and I absolutely cant figure out how the HELL this grease gun fits my zerks.
Maybe im just dumb? I've greased this truck before (its been a few years....I know that sounds really bad, but that's why I wanna do it ASAP and keep up with it). But I have done it before and never had a problem so I dunno what the hell is wrong. The zerks are all the standard zerk fittings you find on any vehicle. No matter how hard I push this grease gun fitting on to the zerk, it will not go on. When it does seem like its on there, I start pumping and the grease just oozes out from between the gun fitting and the zerk.......any help on how to solve this would be highly appreciated!!

Yes that will work just fine. Just pump enough into each joint to purge out all the old grease. It will be messy so get some rags on hand.

I don't know....the fitting connected nicely to the zerk with just a little pressure. There's a slight snap sound when it's seated properly.

I wish mine did that...I literally just bought it and tried to use it the next day with zero luck. I don't see how or why it wont go onto the zerk fitting

I will look a bit closer at the coupler but this thing is brand new right outta the box so nothing should be broken yet I would hope. It seems to be the right size because if I completely unscrew the end coupler off of the hose, it goes on the zerk just fine. When its connected to the hose on the gun, it does not go onto the zerk. Very strange

Cody, I had a similar issue with that grease gun. Some advise would be to release pressure from the flex hose prior to connecting it to your grease fitting by pressing the button next to the breather valve. I also sometimes have to squeeze the retention clip to release the plunger in order to feed grease into the flex hose. You could prime the flex hose also, if you wish, before you connect it to your zerk fittings. Keep squeezing the trigger until a small bead of grease flows from the end of the flex hose. Bleed pressure as stated above and get a strong grip and apply suitable force straight onto the zerk. Try to avoid a side to a side rocking motion as you don't want to break the zerk fitting. You are correct, it doesn't want to go on easy but as you wear the gun in, it should get easier.

I have a 10 2wd Trd sport and have yet to find any zerks on driveshafts. They must be on 4x4 only?

Hope this isn't a stupid question, but should you grease the zerks on a new truck? I have already seen a few things on my truck that tell me the workers weren't paying attention to details. I would hate to get to 15K miles only to find out that there hasn't been sufficient grease there for some time.

I grease my u-joints every 5000 miles, or every oil change. Better to grease them and help flush out dirt and not let them dry out.

I found 3, very easy to get to. Front, middle, rear. I was thinking maybe Toyota consolidated and made them easier to get to starting with the '13? I just want to make sure I am not missing any? I had the infamous tacoma thud at stops and accelerating. Greasing those 3 fixed it! I just would love confirmation that those are the only 3.
