    Sup Guys,
Recently purchased a 2014 TRD sport tacoma. This is my first truck and will be my first lift and my knowledge is very limited on the subject. Excuse the stupid questions that I might ask.

As far as lift kits I'm lookin at a 3" toyotec lift kit. My taco I believe already comes with Bilstein 5100 shocks, so I guess my first question is what are all of the necessary components (aside from shocks), that I need for a full 3" lift? Should I just get everything toyotec?
Also can anyone recommend a good website to get these parts at a good price?

EDIT: I'm not entirely sure if the 14' TRD tacomas stock Bilstein shocks are the Bilstein 5100 shocks.

Your taco comes with bilstein shocks but not 5100s. I vote for OME front to back. The leaf packs will cost you some money (about $400) but if you want to save some money go with an add a leaf (about $75 for a pair).

Also, wouldn't the coilover toyotecs be better than the OME spacers?

    - Top plate spacers for the front if you want a full 3" lift
    - NO diff drop..waste of time and money
    - Dakars in the rear
    - longer brake lines at least in the rear

Looks like everyone is recommending spacers over coil-overs for the 3" lift. Is there a specific reason for this? I was at the toyota dealership and they said the same thing, but wasn't extremely clear on why.

the OME is a small trim pack/spacer not a full 3" spacer

the toytec coilovers I rode on were very stiff

Alright thanks for helpin me out guys. So as far as durability, performance, and how smooth it rides, you think the OME would be a better choice over Toyotec? Or is there not much of a difference and mostly a matter of opinion?

I know that I am a first gen, but hey, ill chime in. I have a 3" lift. I put Eibach coils (from toytec) with 5100's on all 4 corners, and an AAL in the back. It rides beautifully. Toytec is solid :)

Damnit you guys got me torn. So it's like $720 for the EMU kit and like $900+ for the toytec kit. The toytec coils are adjustable, but I'm not sure that is something I really need.

Since I won't be putting this together myself, can anyone speak on installation hours for EMU vs Toytec? I'm trying to crunch numbers on labor cost at the local shops.

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
sorry to go off topic but why do you have 3 top plate spacers? did you stack 2 on the driver side?

the middle spacer does seem to be the thinner 1/4" and the other 2 look to be the 1/2" tps. Just wondering how stacking them worked out, if that's what you did?

OP- I spent $1,015 on Eibachs, 5100's for front and rear, and Dakar leaf packs, plus a couple extras and I love the ride. Ive heard lots of good things about OME also, so I don't think youll go wrong with either one. If you want to go a little cheaper then get the eibachs and 5100's separate and have them put together for $100. They wont be adjustable but if you don't need it then save $ where you can. If you can fit new leaf springs into your budget then that would be best for quality.

Alright guys. Thank you for all your help. After further research I went with the EMU lift kit and 886 coils (since I am getting aftermarket bumpers). Probably in the next 2 weeks I will post some pics of my new ride w/ brand new All pro front and rear bumpers as well as the new lift kit. TACOMAWORLD is fucking cool as shit, glad I'm now a member. Mad props to all of you who commented in this discussion. <3

Installation for my Toytec lift took 3-4 hours at a shop, including alignment time. And the toytec kit I bought was:

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Bilstein-Adjustable-lift-kit-with-5100-shocks_p_132.html

The Bilstein Adjustable Lift Kit. I would recommend it to anyone. It can be cheaper if you source the parts individually instead of all of it from Toytec as well.
