    the "official kayak" thread has much of this already covered.....

    I see many of you carry yaks upright and on the sides. I always wondered what happens when it rains? I guess you have to stop and pump out the yak.?.

    15' yak on a roof rack is crazy IMO.

    Cockpit cover; most have a sewn loop that you can run a piece of rope or something through to make sure that it doesn't get lost even if it should blow off going down the road.

    I carried my 15' tandem on the OEM roof rack ONCE. Without bow and stern tie downs it was really unsecure and with them, it seemed to warp the plastic in the hot sun if I put too much pressure. The OEM with rear support from the bed or hitch is a good setup though.

    The are made by Thule and really like them. Purchased them on ebay from some one cheap. One was used once and the other one was never opened.
