    Sup guys,

I'm in the process of ordering a 20" light bar and I'm wondering if I should mount it under or outside of the grill. I figure if it's mounted under the grill I might end up losing a lot of light. On the other hand if it's under the grill it stays protected and out of the way. What do you guys think? Also, what is the best way to go about mounting a light bar? I'm new to the forum, apologies if there's already a section for this.

^^^^ nice thanks. $91 + shipping for a fairly simplistic mount seems kinda stiff. Are there other options out there?

I've got a 40" LED bar attached to a NFab bar. A behind the grill mount is much more secure (as far as someone stealing it) but I just "personally" don't like the looks of it behind the grill.

22" lightbar, mounted using perforated angle iron (1.5" X 1.5") drilled and tapped, bolted to the back of the front bumper.
Great light output! Haven't noticed any shadowing from its mounting location.

Only problem I have is were to put the front license plate. Wisconsin has a silly law requiring that we actually display the front plate:eek:

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
So does CA... but I've never had a front plate on all of my vehicles and so far nothing. :spy: They have better stuff to worry about.

I won't put one on my Solstice! If they actually give me a ticket for it most likely it will be a "fixit ticket" In which case I'll snap on the front plate holder, show them, come home and pull it back off!

    NC still front plate free!

I put two 7" LED's behind my grill with a custom bracket that I had made at my shop, and the fit was tight.

Getting a 20" bar in there might be tough (even though I'm sure it's been done).

I never have understood States that require plates to be on the front? I think I would take my chances like other's have said and just not run with it. If they say something just have it in the truck and tell them you were on the way to pick up a bracket ;)

Why just a 20"? I put a 30" inside mine and it fit perfectly. I just used self tapping screws and drilled.it into the aluminum crash bar. Trust me it ain't going any where lol
