I have a 2000 sr5 stepside xtra cab 2WD tacoma with 150,000 miles. Truck is in excellent shape and runs awesome. Very clean inside and out, zero rust and well maintained. I love this truck.

Had a guy offer to trade me for his 1997 Jeep wrangler Sahara with 135,000 miles. From pictures it looks pretty clean, he has added a Dana 44 and 3:73 gears. I have had a few Wranglers and like them, would just miss a truck but my boys love Jeeps. We do t drive my vehicle much, maybe 1 to 2 days a week.

    What do you think?

No. I've grown up with Wranglers, and had my last one for 12 years. I'd sink money into the Tacoma you already have, personally. If your boys want it, that's different. If you want reliability, stick with the Tacoma. My Wrangler blew rods at 120k miles, pretty sure I lost part of my hearing due to having only a soft top, left knee cracks now due to stick and traffic, my spine had to have a number of years taken off due to the suspension.... although I had a lot of sex in that thing. Hm. Tough call.

Bad trade. I used to own a jeep and its nice actually owning a reliable vehicle. The only good part on a jeep is the 4.0l straight 6. Its a torque monster and will last forever, the rest of the vehicle will fall apart around it.

If the engine looks really clean and runs fine...I probably would. 2wd 5 lug for a 4wd jeep? Ya.

But the engine can't be a leaking haggard pile of shit with random wites everywhere either

Bad trade, if that jeep has 135,000 miles on it then it is probably getting ready to have problems if not already having some. just my .02

The jeep is a 4.0/ 5 speed. I have owned Jeeps so I understand the harsh ride and all the other stuff that goes away with a Jeep. I live in NC so 4x4 isn't needed. I appreciate all the replies , keep them coming!!!

Had a 2001 Wrangler with 60k on it...4.0 5speed... Loved being able to put the top down, hated pouring money into the damn thing constantly. In not sure I'll ever waste my money on another.

I would trade. I mean it's 4x4 and it's a jeep so there's plenty of aftermarket support for it.
