    From what I've been told you have plenty of antenna above the cab but by the tail Light is not an ideal location, with that said there are guys running it there with no problems.

    I just ordered a spring I see if that works. I may also grab a new cable. The one I have is a couple of years old so it may be damaged. Thanks for the help

    No problem.
    I've got the same antenna but mounted it centered right behind the cab to the rail system & grounded the mount to the frame. If I remember right when me & taco no baka tuned mine I was at 1.6

    Once my spring comes in I will add that and an extra wire to make 100% that the mount is making a good ground.

    Dont know if a spring will help any but it will add to the length, obviously. Haha
    When I bought mine it said the 4' firefly can be used with a medium spring so thats what I got(even though reviews said not to) but noticed it laid over way too easy when driving. I switched to a heavy duty spring, Taco No Baka thought his was too heavy so we traded & now it doesnt lay over so much. Just something to think about.

    I went for the heavy because I do quite a bit of driving at interstate speeds(85ish)

    Im going to also run the power directly to the battery instead of the add a fuse in the cab

    No experience with those mounts, I just unscrew mine from the stud & store it under the back seat
    I drive the interstate to & from work, thats how I found out the medium didnt work too good.

    I have never had a cb and don't know all the details. For some reason I was under the impression you couldn't remove the antenna without having to "retune" it or something. But crap if you can do that I'll just remove it
    Problem solved.
    What's the best mounting spot in your opinion? Guess I need to get a mount.

    Nothing is changing, your just unscrewing it & screwing back in. That's the way I see it anyway, everything stays the same.
    I called cb world & they said centered in the roof is best but I said I wasnt drilling a hole in my roof. Then he suggested close to the roof, center behind the cab would be best so that's where I put it. I have a tonneau cover also & made my own mount.

    Wasnt hard, did it with a hammer & vise. What you cant see in the pic is that it goes under the cover & sits on top of the rail then down to the track & mounted there. I used the knob & t bolt from one of my tie downs.
