What is this for?

i keep seeing this under my hood on the passenger side and don't know what supposed to mount there.

 

Could you be a little more specific?

 

it sits right on top of the front passenger wheel. it looks like some sort of mount. i didn't know if might be for a compressor or something. it has three bolts sticking up.

 

Do you have a better picture? maybe one from more of a distance so we can see placement and stuff!!

 

For your year model it was most likely for the ABS actuator in a PreRunner

Wondering the same thing. Noticed it when I did an engine bay cleaning.

 

i have a 2010 trd offroad, but it does look like the mount in your picture

That is where the ABS actuator mounts on all models, EXCEPT for
the TRD Off road

 

i just thinking i could fab up something to use those bolts to hold my compressor. it looks like a great spot and not to difficult to make something up to mount a compressor on and then bolt to that.

If yours is a 4x4 it probably won't have the actuator. It's built into the master cylinder.

 

Lot of people do exactly that.
