Hey guys I got my 09 Supercharged taco and it just started throwing lean codes yesterday during normal driving... both banks 1 and 2. And one time I pulled the codes it was only bank 2 but every other time it has been both simultaneously. The truck still runs fine, and is not hesitating or running rough with or without the codes, just tripping the CEL. Checked for vaccuum leaks after the MAF and couldn't find anything obvious. Possibly clogged fuel filter or something? Was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue with their SC'd 2nd gen and would like some input if possible. Thanks!

How many miles do you have? Still have the crappy stock fuel pump / non replaceable filter? It might be time for a URD fuel pump / external filter upgrade. Make sure you get one of the pumps rated for ethanol as pretty much all gas has some in it now.

I got almost 88K miles and I cleaned my throttle body out last week but not my MAF. Yes I do have the stock fuel pump and filter and I was thinking the same thing.. just do that so I can have a good pump and filter and then see if it still does it. I drove it yesterday and it didn't throw any codes so it's intermittent as well. I only run Shell or Chevron gas if I can help it too because they seem to use less ethanol as Arco or some of the cheaper ones. Gonna clean the MAF and guess order a fuel pump and filter kit from URD. Have any of you guys had experience doing our fuel pump? Is it quicker to take the bed off or just drop the tank?

just drop the tank. it is a PITA. a few of the fuel line clips are up on top of the tank. cursed it a few times but with the help of another member, and his handy transmission jack, it wasnt toooo bad. I went with the Deatschwerks pump from URD

I've heard good things about the Deatschwerks pumps. I'm planning on doing this soon and getting Deatschwerks pump for $5 more than the walbro.

Quite the opposite. The dirty filter restricts the flow of fuel to the point that fuel pressure drops so low that even with the injectors at 100% they cannot deliver enough fuel.

Okay I figured out what it was! We fabbed a custom crossover and it ended up rubbing on a little spare vacuum cap off on the drivers side of the supercharger and it put a hole in it when I was going hard and the engine was bouncing on the mounts. Got it all trimmed up and cleared now hopefully the codes will stop now! Still going to get the fuel pump soon though because I wanna get that 2.8 pulley :D

I think he meant a dirty Air Filter. Which would starve it for air.

That would do it. Any vacuum leak will allow additional unmetered air into the system leading to a lean condition. Glad you found it and it was an easy fix. Got any pics of your crossover?

Who's air intake are you using? - not asking as to a cure, just curious.
