okay, I currently am running the stock 245/75/16, I will be installing 265/75/16 duratracs before winter comes. I have the stock rims and don't plan on getting other rims unless I hit the lotto. I was planning on a lift but hard to say now. I do think that with the 1.25" spacers the stance is just right

I am running 267/75. My spidertrax have only been on for a little while but no issues so far.

Uh...Heres something to consider... if your wheels stick out past the fenders (or even close) you will throw rocks at your paintjob. You will also throw more rainwater, mud and whatever else you drive over onto your truck, causing you to wash it more. Oh and its tougher on your wheel bearings and other steering components.

My last truck (ranger) had a nice wide stance with some Dick Cepek wheels and tires, and after 3 years of that i sold it almost exclusively to the rock chips and beginning rust. when turning in the rain, i could watch rain fly from my tires to my door windows. Going forward i will never have wheels that stick out too far. It ruined my last truck.

Just something to consider. I know the flares on our tacos offer good protection but still....

I thought about running spacers to widen the stance slightly but the trade off for shortening the life of the wheel bearings kept me from it. I love how they look and like most have said on here SpiderTrax would be the way to go.

Mine stick out just far enough and I think 1.5" might be too much.

hey guys, hate to sound like a broken record here but gotta ask. i have a 3in procomp and wanna keep my trd rims while going to 33x12.5x17. So from reading, the 1.25" Spidertrax should work fine?? thanks

Does anyone have pics of the stock 245/75/16 tires with spacers? I have too much tread on my hankooks to justify buying new tires right now.

And a previous poster said you are not supposed to use spacers with steel rims...anyone know why? Haven't ever heard that or seen any info posted anywhere.

Thanks man! In that pic those are 885x OME coils on 5100s, 886 coils and All Pro A-Arms are waiting to be installed. Lol, I'm currently saving for Fox Coilovers had to have 886s, APEX sagged it out too much. TSB springs in rear, 1" block. Firestone bags and Daystar cradles. All Pro standard pack is next. Can't decide if I want to use $500 of my Fox money for leaf pack or just wait!

I had SpiderTrax 1.25" spacers with my 17" TRD wheels on 265/65/17 tires and I felt it made a difference with the stance of the truck. I had many good comments when I did that. I also had no issues while using them for 2 1/2 years.

Later, I removed the spacers when I bought 18x9 wheels with 33x12.5x18 tires. Of course I had to add a 3" lift to accommodate the wheels and tires.

So does it warp or screw up the bearings or whatever when using the spacers with the steel rims or something?

I don't see how the wheels being steel or aluminum matters...

I've never heard of not using spacers on steel wheels. As far as I know the spacer doesn't know (or care) what kind of wheel it is holding. I guess I could be wrong since I've never used them. Spacers will (no matter what wheel you use) have more of a chance of wearing out your bearings prematurely due to the extra stress on the outside of the hub.

But the steel wheel question? I dunno....
