Hi all. I was installing a new AAL in my Dakar pack the other day and noticed the front eye bushing was toast. It seems that the inner sleeve that surrounds the mounting bolt became separated from the bushing and ate away at it. It seemed to only eat downward, until it hit the outer sleeve. Leaving just an elongated oval, the rest of bushing seemed in good condition.

Anyway, I remember reading the Dakar's use the OEM rubber bushing. Can anyone confirm? Has anyone used poly in this application?

Has anyone ordered these? Or has anyone tackled this job?

    Mucho Por Favor.

    Okay. Thanks for that info.

I called wheeler's this morning and they confirmed Dakar's use stock 60mm bushings in the front eye of the leaf. Stock tacoma leaves use 60mm for both front and rear eyes.

I got the poly ones I listed in the OP because I don't have convenient access to a 20 ton press. I'd rather not pull my whole leaf pack out again to press them in. And since that kit has 4 of the same size bushings, if the first ones take a shit quick I'll have a pair of spares to throw in there. At $6.50 per leaf eye, it's hard to beat.

    Just the basics
Found this thread while searching for bushings on the leaf packs. What did you end up doing? All my bushings are crapped out.

I went with these: They're stock 1St gen front leaf bushings. But they fit the front Dakar application. Not sure for second gen though....

It involves drilling out the old rubber bushing and REMOVING the old outer sleeve.
