Has anyone removed the abs module on second gens? I already won't have abs in the front do to running dana 44 hubs so I figured why not ditch it all together. It would clean up the truck a lot and be less parts to fail out in the middle of no where. Only thing is I don't know if any other signals have to run through it. It's on a 08 prerunner so it doesn't have traction control or any of that jazz.

Back from the dead!! I am trying to find the same info. I want to get rid of this mess of a unit, its taking up precious space in my engine bay. I haven't found anything about removing or relocating yet. @DMCtacoma, its been like years....did you come up with anything?

I figured out you can't remove it on the auto prerunners. The rear speed sensors run thru it before it goes to the speedo and trans. What I did on mine though is remove all the brake lines going to it since I didn't want to have abs. It made it a lot easier to mount and tuck away on my project

So I guess leaving the unit plugged in electronically will keep the system from throwing a CEL. Then just deal with brake lines.

I still haven't done my research on this, but why do the OR and some other trucks not have this unit in the same location? Or do they not have it at all?
