Are all air filters equal?

    I have to agree with Wix. That is if I still had a stock air box. You don't need to change the filter every oil change in most situations so $15 CAN is alright by me for a good name.

    I might even just buy Toyota OEM if the price was okay.

    If you did a little more research you could find out who actually makes each of them and buy the lowest cost version of a good filter.

    I actually use AFE cleaning solution. But I think you can use soap & water.

    You soak it with the cleaning solution and let it sit for 10minutes. You rinse it out....let it dry.

    Yeah....NOW I clean them once a year because I don't offroad.

    When I owned my 96 which had the K&N in it - I cleaned it twice a season.

    The whole point is....keep it clean.
