used the search function and i found what im looking for... but one question, if i were to get the extended one i would HAVE to get new UCAs? or could i have then set at say 2 rather then 2.5 on the standard coilover. or am i just thinking of stuff that cant be done?

I have the Longer ext Travel Icons with Total Chaos Upper arms and LOVE IT!!!!!

I have them about 5 inch lift over stock and they ride amazing.

The pics below are at the 2 inch lift or so, How they come stock which is about where my old 5100 billys were at the top notch groove the 2.5 inch lift over stock.

    Just got it!
Dumb question.. how'd you get a 5" lift with the Icon Ex Travels? I thought they offered a max of 3.5" lift?

Can you run the 5" of lift with just extended travel CO's and new UCA's. I thought you had to lower the crossmember.

the crossmember has nothing to do with a suspension lift unless you're talking a DB lift.

5" of lift can't be achieved by coilovers alone. you'd need a DB or body lift to get the extra 2"

How's the ride on the Icons set at 3" of lift? Not too rough?

i recently installed the extended travel icons with my lr uca's and have them set around 2.5 " . Its hard to describe but the on road pavement cracks and say like small abrupt bumps like manhole cover dips and shit seem quite stiff almost the same as my 886s. but you start hitting bigger longer repeated obstacles and they are like butter yet firm and responsive at the same time. I expected them to be softer on street but i have no regrets.

I got extended travel radflos ready to go in but waiting on my camburg ucas,
with stock suspension and a 2" spacer I get 10-10.5" of travel ! no swaybar but otherwise stock so I was wondering if the coils and ucas would give me more then that and then if I would have to do a diff drop to keep the cvs fron exploding

Why does Icon provide more lift than other companies like king or fox?

I wish icon would publish eye to eye and stroke numbers. I was thinking about getting their extended rr's and UCA but $2200 seems steep for an extra 1/2" of travel.

is it worth getting reservoir setup on the icon and other similar shocks?

i know it keeps the oil cooler, and that it avoids shock fade..but is it worth it?

i figured youd need the reservoirs for prerunner desert racing setups and what not..

Ok I did some searching this is the closest I could find to my question. But I still need more info.

I'm thinking of "leveling" my truck with the standard icon coil overs. Can I run these with stock uca? And what kind of travel/performance can I expect with the stock uca and the height set around .5".

Also planning on taking advantage of the adjustability to compensate for the heavier driver side.

    Thanks

Looks like coilover part number 58630 would be fine in that application. That's the coilover included in the stage 1 and stage 2 kits. No UCA required because they're standard travel.

Just read this thread. First off, the questions asked were great. Next the answers were informative and straight forward.
What surprises me most of all, is that there was no bickering or other typical crap found on any TW thread you browse thru. This could have been 1500 posts long and I would have enjoyed all 1500 posts if it kept going the way it did.
Kudos to everyone evolved at least to this point!
I was entertained and learned a lot along the way.
