Did it break while driving on the highway or off road?
What kind of terrain were you on when yours failed?

I've had my LRs for 2 years now. no issues except the bushing. Which they sent the upgrade kit for free.

Just make sure you take the bushings out before welding.

Personally, I'd weld them with an .045 alloy cored or flux cored wire on a good, hot setting, and then have them powder coated.

I drive a combo of city, highway and mud/gravel backcountry roads. The arm didn't snap off, it just fractured at the weld/collar. I will attach the pic of it as it on the truck. SPC has sent me replacements as it was covered under warranty. They claim it was a design issue that has been rectified. We shall see. I have been away and will be replacing them when I get back.

    I second this.

I just ordered a lift from them and they, by far, have the best customer service I've ever had to deal with! Very personable and reasonable and she knows what she's talking about!! If you have any questions she would be happy to help I'm sure.

And they're willing to put together just about any parts you want for a kit.

    Easily the best.

Pretty sure it was broke before we ever got to the place we were wheeling.. Just didn't notice it until we were about done for the day and noticed him backing up beside me and saw it moving. You can hear it clanking in this video when the front tire hits the ledge..

Yea the bushings would definitely come out before welding.. The arms aren't a very thick material, maybe .083, Was kind of surprisedss

I do like the boxed arms like the icon and new dsm which is probably what i will get since im in sd.

As far as tubular. I realize the design is pretty simple but they all seem to be a copy of the total chaos arms. They were the first to come out with them too. I would buy those if going tubular. They did the R&D and should reap the benefits. They like toyotas too.

this... Ive seen two break. One was on a guys truck who never even off roads.

Their first model for 2nd gens had:

    Bad welds

    Bad design

    Bad ball joints

    Bad bushings

This is exactly what happened to a guy I know. I helped him replace them with TC's.

Hell no. I wouldn't even touch their "new design". Any company that uses it's customers for R&D will never see any of my money.

Those look nice. Camburg also has caps for their Ball Joint UCA's, I have them.

All-Pro makes solid arms, but they should go back to TIG welding them, which is best for chromoly. All are MIG welded now, but AP's are a still a great value with 1.25" uniballs.

Sad to see LR arms are breaking.

How long ago did these fail and when did they buy them. I bought mine in November of 2012 and haven't had any issues

Zacks (the guys who broke with us) had his for about 2 years. He got the replacement ones in today and we installed them about an hour ago and while they do look a little better im still undure of them. Still no gussets on them and they still are mig welded. Ill be re doing his old set and adding gussets to them

Given the previous posts on the weld issues, I will certainly keep an eye on them!

I ordered LR UCA's with my lift on Tuesday.. I never heard about anyone having issues with them until now....... FFS I would have spent more money on something better.

Y'know if you are looking to upgrade from those LR to save any future worries about the UCAs failing... Camburg arms are available at one of our Canadian dealers as well. Get a hold of Baja North, they are in Kamloops BC! :)
