My wife and I took our first Tacoma adventure last weekend, by complete accident! I guess it started with tbturner47 and his 4xInnovations Hybrid front bumper post. I just had to have it, and couldn't beat the deal. So I was able to convince the wife to drive from Dayton, Oh to Asheville, NC to pick up the bumper and make a weekend camping trip out of it... Couldn't have predicted how freakin' wonderful the whole trip would turn out!

First of all... Big Thanks to Travis for the great deal on the great bumper. At the time of this posting, I haven't mounted it; but I have to blame the delay on my frame's gooey new CRC coating (what a mess). We'll have to hit the woods, next time I'm in town, with that beast of a Taco you're driving around.

Well the wife chose the place to camp. We spent Saturday night staying at the Davidson River Campground in the Pisgah Ranger District of Pisgah National Forest. The place was beautiful. We started off making camp with a borrowed tent.

Most of our time was spent hiking trails to the surrounding waterfalls (there are several). We started with Looking Glass Falls.

Our puppy was exhausted from the 8 hr trip and miles of hiking in the first day. Who can't love that face?

Then we hiked a mile or so to see a tiny little waterfall (Moore Cove Falls) back in the sticks.

After picking up the bumper (kicking myself for not taking a pic of RustyBlue next to tbturner47's beast), we hit the sack.

After a humid night's sleep, we set out down the road to DuPont State Forest to see Hooker Falls and Triple Falls.

The trails to both were entertaining...

Alas, all great adventures must come to an end. Otherwise the next big adventure would never begin.

I know we're not the only ones out there looking for the next place to visit, so please share those secret spots to set up camp. We've started a list
