Hey guys, I'm thinking of putting either a bull bar or a full grille guard/Brush guard on my 2006 4X4 TRD Off road V-6.
I'm thinking of going Stainless Steel as opposed to powder coated, just to match my tube steps.
I've seen a nice one from Westin, as well as a couple of others, but just wondering what kind of experiences you all might have had.
Easy installation, or would you recommend having it done by someone who knows what they are doing? I'm also thinking of mounting a pair of driving lights, so the wiring and switch instillation would have to be done professionally, since I'm kind of a klutz!
Also, does the factory skid place have to come off?
While I'm at it...has anyone ever put the Westin Stainless steel tube tail light guards on their Taco?

Most guys here don't run a brush guard like from Westin. Basically it's really material, thin tubing. Seen quite a few Avid light bars on here. If you decide to get one, they are fairly simple to install.

As far as brush guards go, if you're getting it for looks, go for it, but if you're getting it for function, they're terrible. I know lots of people who've wrecked with brush guards and all the metal just rips stuff apart on your front end. My fiancee's grandfather hit a deer and the brush guard did more damage to the truck than the deer would have without the brush guard.

Bull bars, I find completely useless, but they don't look half bad....unless, of course, you own a cattle ranch and need to push some fatass cows out of the way :D

If you're going for protection, your best bet is a tube/plate bumper. If you're going for looks, it doesn't matter which route you go

Fairly easy install so long as you have the right tools, theres a couple of hard to reach spots but patience got it done. Takes about an hour to do.
