This past Saturday night I fell asleep at the wheel of my supercharged 99 Tacoma Xtra cab and completely totaled the whole left side. I need help figuring out how much it is worth as a parts vehicle. I am in a super tight spot, as the truck's insurance had lapsed at the time and I still owe a lot of money on it, plus I have a baby on the way and winter is coming, so all my payment money will be going into heating bills. It has 15" aftermarket allow wheels with 33x12.5 Goodyear DuraTracs on them (little less than half tread left) a 4" lift kit, locking rear diff, ETC, appx 217,000 miles. Don't know if frame is damaged. Also has aftermarket stereo and speakers. Anything helps. Thank you.

Edit - I have no idea how much the parts would be worth. Good luck OP.

Glad you are okay - that could have ended bad for you.

OUCH! Did you roll it? Looks like maybe the drive shaft is hanging down. You have comprehensive insurance which was lapsed? They would have given you only fair trade private party value anyway. A 98 would be depreciated...well back of the napkin calculation at 61% of original MSRP. That could be your starting place for figuring. If you have a place to store inside and show it then most people would use Craigslist to part it out. I know that's not helping much.

You are kind of lucky to walk away from that one.

edit: Missed we were in the marketplace.

How many miles are on the mods? Was the motor and s/c damaged in the wreck? You'll get the most value out of parting that poor thing out and probably scrapping the body/frame. We would want to know the condition of the parts being sold, especially off a high mileage vehicle. Good luck and glad you weren't seriously hurt!

Scrap it and take the parts you can money off of, I rolled mine no where near as bad as this and it cost me 2700 for body work and paint. again mine was no where near as bad. Part it out then scrap it.

Based on your picture, I can't tell if the frame is cocked or how the engine and driveline look. If the frame, engine, transmission and suspension components aren't damaged, or only sustained minor damage, I'd seriously consider looking for a replacement body. It would likely be your cheapest option as you won't get a lot of money for parts / scrap.

I looked it over better in the daylight, and it appears that the frame came out of it okay. Engine still cranks, but I don't know if it runs because the gas tank got punctured and I have no fuel. I do not know how many miles are on any of the mods, as this truck was bought at auction, had no paperwork, and the dealer knew nothing about it. It did not roll; I sideswiped a telephone pole and crushed the left side in. The control arms appear to be bent, as you can see from the tire position, but there is no damage to the rims or tires somehow. I will put up the other pictures I have. The frame is rust free and still has readable barcode stickers on it, so I assume it was replaced.

Sorry about the multiple posts, I am working from my phone and it does not let me post more than one picture per post for some reason.

Well, obviously body panels/bedsides/doors/cab/hood/tailgate/possibly frame... ya might get a couple bucks for the engine & associated parts, but that is the most totaled vehicle I've seen in a long time, sorry for the issues you're having Bro'....seriously

Damn! Glad you walked away. Get every part big an small and sell that way. Gears, plastics, handles, even the smallest least likely things will sell eventually.
scrap value won't be much. I just did this this yr. Sold a lot of parts here also. Good luck.

Sorry about your truck but remember your luck could always be worse.

It doesn't really sound like you have many options. Since the insurance lapsed your best bet is to sell it to someone that wants to on fix it or part it out if time and space permits. All of the parts won't sell over night but they will sell. I would try advertising it on Craigslist and see if you get any builders calling you on it. I think I would cut my losses asap and try to make some cash if I was in your situation. This is coming from a guy who has been working on and off for over a year fixing up his Tacoma after totaling it.

FWIW - On my truck I learned that it will never be the same and damage kept popping up in places not previously noticed. I can assure you yours will be the same. Don't let the aftermarket parts you installed or good surviving parts blind you when determining what to do with it.

Man that's crazy damage. Glad to hear you're ok. I have bought and parted many trucks in my life and you can make the money that you need. Do some research and total up how much you can get for stuff. Things like the motor swap, super charger, trans+tcase all the way down to your $5 climate control knobs. Catalog all those good parts and start making ads on CL and forums. Don't be afraid to ship stuff, it's pretty easy.

IMHO you have maybe $5000 depending on how firm you stand on pricing. That being said don't bother trying to rebuild it. If you want some help or have anymore questions feel free to pm me.

I totalled a 93 4runner, ended up putting a 95 body on it, bought the body for $100 bucks.
It is totally possible to rebuild.
blackdawg put a new body on his taco as well. Sometimes its worth it to fix up YOUR truck.
you will not get your moneys worth if you scrap it. if the frame is bent then your toast. based on the look of your front bumper, the engine may have moved...

It has the TRD supercharger? Could be worth some money.
