    Got my truck back yesterday from the CRC process. Overall it was a smooth process and the work is surprisingly neat. There was quite a bit of over spray on the flares, rockers and lower front bumper cover which the dealer chose not to clean up, but it did wipe off easily.

    Truck is a 2007 TRD Sport with 52,000 miles

    It did, and I was thinking twice about having it done at all, but I didn't want future issues

    Looks like you had something brushed on before?? I find it crazy the guys up north with the rust issues..I keep mine wd-40'd in the summer and before winter rolls around (I live in north carolina) I clean the frame good with a degreaser and heavily coat with Amsoil heavy duty metal protector and so far it works wonders for me. Granted our winters aren't that heavily salted..

    Last fall I scraped all the scale off and treated it with Lawson Rust Converter followed by a quick rattle can paint job. Nothing special

    WD-40 is a water dispersant. It helps prevent rust.

    Yes, it is..mainly to help clean the frame also. The Amsoil stuff creates somewhat of a coating. I know theres much better solutions and products but, so far my frame looks brand new still after a winter and mud

    Looks good. But I wonder how hard it is to work on things covered in it?
    Does it cause issues with removal of parts?

    I'm guessing it'll make parts easier to get off by not seizing up but it will be messy of course

    Did they install frame plugs? Seems they were in the beginning of this sham campaign. I don't think that's going to do anything, other than make your frame look Ok while it falls apart from the inside.

    From the reading on this forum, it appears that dealerships are inconsistent with both the frame replacements or the lipstick on a pig coating procedure.

    Should I be concerned about this rust on my frame? I hope Toyota has fixed the frame rust problem. 2013 TRD Off-Road DC

    Actually WD-40 is a pretty decent rust inhibitor. Problem is it collects dirt (and therefore moisture) and isn't very durable or persistent. This guy did a fairly extensive salt water test comparing various products used on firearms;
    http://www.thegunzone.com/rust.html

    Having used Eezox which was the testers top performer in his salt water test I have been considering using it on my frame. It leaves a dry film and withstands wear. Figure if I use an atomizing sprayer a gallon would do the frame twice. Maybe three or four times. As good as the stuff is it would be worth the $90 or $100.

    Now instead of rusting from the outside in since they sprayed that crap on there it will rot from the inside out. Did they spray that stuff in the boxed in places like cab mounts and the forward frame?

    I'm debating a spray job on my 2014, my 2006 was pretty crusty when I traded it even after I painted it with magnet brand chassis paint.
