    We will be heading out for two weeks to Rocky Mountain NP and Custer State Park for some quiet outdoor camping and some great trout fishing

    Mine is 50/5, generally tests out at 55/6. My modem is a DOCSIS 3.0.

    Of course, even at those speeds I'm spoiled by work's connection:

    I'd rather drive a V6 than that monstrosity. KITT is a Trans Am with the voice of Feeny, nothing else is KITT.

    On a side note, I'm about to throw my ARB fog lamps off a building.

    When ARB designed them, they weren't exactly thinking long term. They use H3 bulbs, but the male spade connector they use extends outside of the small weatherstripping opening for the wiring. Because of this, it's impossible to replace the H3 bulb without either cutting off the spade connector or losing the weatherstripping grommet.

    So I got the brilliant idea when swapping bulbs to use a female metal spade connector at the end of the ARB wiring and tuck the metal spade connector from my new bulb inside the back of the housing, keeping all weatherstripping intact.

    The problem with this is I've now blown my 5th(!) fuse with this setup. I have tried just about everything to keep this from shorting out and it appears only one of the lamps keeps shorting. I have wrapped the metal spade connector in many layers of 3M Super 33 which apparently wears through. Last night I put a layer of heat shrink, more 3M Super 33 and then covered the metal of the housing with 3M Super 33 and heat shrink and i blew the GD fuse again today.

    I haven't taken it apart to see if I've worn through anything, but I'm starting to run out of ideas, short of sucking it up and moving the spade connection outside of the weather stripping and having to go through the hassle of cutting off the male connector of every new bulb, soldering in a new one and then re-wrapping it every time, which basically defeats the purpose of what I wanted, which was to have an easy plug and play setup.

    Blah, I'll figure something out, but any ideas would be helpful right now.

    EDIT: I really don't feel like ripping into it tonight and I'm completely out of fuses to use anyways. This stinks though because of the way my auxiliary fuse panel is wiring removing the fuse box cover in the engine bay is more of a headache than it needs to be.

    DOUBLE EDIT: I said eff it and moved the spade connector outside of the inner place (where the bulb goes) as I noticed the bulb was overheating. The new connection is between the metal housing and the plastic back assembly. The connection is pushed against the plastic backing that screws into the metal, but I have well insulated it as well. I will purchase new fuses once I get paid Friday and go from there.

    Lol. Good job on that airline thread, Alex.

    Morning all!

    Hey McFly;
    Have you been using dielectric grease on the spade connectors? That'll keep moisture out of the connection and help prevent arcing at the connection, which might be why you're blowing fuses.

    Morning all. Just got back from camping up upstate NY. Cut it a day short because it was supposed to hail and have heavy rain last night. Good news, the truck gets just over 16 MPG dragging the trailer and with the bed loaded up with all the camping gear and I can set the cruise at 73 and forget about it.

    Shrug. Sometimes locking a thread is the best thing for it, haha!
    I have to commend the mods for being on top of that one; it never made it past the first page.
