The plastic OEM bed liner (tailgate) piece is all scratched up. How easy/difficult is it to remove this plastic piece? Where can I find a new OEM tail gate piece (besides the dealer)? What kind of price are the selling for?

Thanks for the quick reply. My truck is a very basic 2wd model. That product is alittle too fancy for me. I am just looking for a simple OEM replacement. Nothing fancy.
    Thanks

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
if its just a cosmetic issue, have u thought about some light sanding and spray on bed liner? this is mine after a little over a year with raptor liner. its a two part diy spray in kit that comes with a gun all u need is a air compressor. the kits run around $120 and i had enough for 3 coats in the bed and 2 coat for my rocker pannels and flares with almost a whole bottle left over (4 bottles per kit)[IMG]

Yes, actually I have considered a spray on bed liner. How are the beds of the 05+ Tacomas. When the OEM bed liner is removed is there normally lots of rust?

It's actually not a liner at all, the whole bed is composite.

Get an OEM bed mat, $110 from your dealer, worth every penny.

If you remove the tailgate piece, there is going to be a hollow tailgate behind it. Doubtful there would be any rust.
The plastic in the rest of the bed, is actually the bed. It's not a removable liner. I've seen where people have went ahead and coated it with spray liner for looks and extra protection though.

That's interesting. So the plastic bed liner is actually the floor of the bed? If I were to remove the bed liner I would see the rear axle/suspension, gas tank, etc...?

How much does the tail gate plastic piece go for?

The plastic is the whole entire bed. Look under the truck, you'll see it's one chunk of plastic.

No idea on that piece's price. I'd personally sand and paint. If you scratched it once, you'll scratch it again.
Another option are these bedrug mats
