'85 honda xl350r blinker problem

09 Prerunner access cab

Swapped from bulb type to led blinkers on my '85 xl350r.

The problem:

If I push the indicator switch to Left or Right I get all 4 blinkers to come 《《on》》*

No blink, no flicker just on.

*I figured i'd have them hyperblink. Put in a new relay since the oem was bad. New one does same thing.

Bench tested it with a spare trailer light & it blinks fine. I know I will need resistors but I don't want to continue because this has me stumped.
