Hey guys, been talking with my cousin who has been to Uwharrie with his Jeep and thinking of heading out there. I have little to no experience 4-wheeling and wondered if there was any tips you guys might give a newb for going to Uwharrie. I have an 02 X-cab TRD V6 automatic. Totally stock at the moment. My cousin told me he did the whole thing in his stock Wrangler (except for tires) and thinks I would be ok as well. What say you guys? This is something I'd really love to do and bring my wife with me as well.

Well this is a good group to go with then. I went stock during the rain and even the easy trails were slicker than snot. Good to have friends around that will spot you and give you a tug when you need it. Bring a tow strap. And have Dramamine ready for the wife.

Oh, and speaking from experience, make sure she doesn't take off her seat belt!

There are two trails that I wouldn't tackle stock if you like your sheet metal. They are clearly marked on the trail map you get when you buy your pass. Great to have a guide your first time there.

I'm gonna try to bring my 4runner. Currently trying to figure out why a water pump bolt is missing.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Won't be able to make this particular outing but I'm thinking I should be able to go in Oct. (Getting new tires) I think the guide Idea is a good one so I'll keep an eye out on this and other Uwharrie threads. Now someone recommend me a good set of tires!
