Been looking for a taco for a couple weeks now and this one looks pretty nice. Hits most of the stuff on my list - DCSB, Mica, TRD off road package, and its really close to me. Only thing is its not manual... :'( But it seems like its priced a little high for 106k. I'm a little confused because I check it out on KBB and NADA and they valued it at $18.5k and $25.7k, respectively. Why such a big discrepancy? I added all the options on both. Any one have any insight for me?

    Thanks!

lol at that price. 106k miles is nothing, but you should be able to get that truck for 18k MAX

That is a nice truck, but to me it seems like a lot of money for those miles. When we bought our 2010 Pre Runner a few months ago, they had the same truck you have on the lot. Right down to the cap , it was Timberland Mica, and had 7000 one owner miles on it, basically a new truck. They were asking 27.5 for it, and not sure how much they would have dealt on the price, but it sold the first day.

Thanks a bunch for the replies guys. That is exactly what I was hoping to hear. Gonna go check it out today and see if I can get the dealer to get their head out of their asses.

Seems too high to me, but I don't know your area's going rates either.

I bought my 2006 DCSB off-road with 106k on it almost 2 years ago for $18.5 and that price was only 80% of the NADA value. I'd say 18 is way too low, especially with the topper and the great color. I would buy it for around 20k but 25k seems way high.

I'd keep looking but that's me. I'd also rather pay a few thousand more and get a new truck with full warranty. As for used, I'm sure you can do better. Certainly one with less miles on the clock. Areas differ but here's one for example. At a Toyota dealership with 38K and certified for asking price of 26,990. Linky

Well unfortunately the dealers head was really jammed up their ass good and I couldn't get it outta there. They wouldn't budge from $25k. So I told em that the number was $19k and to call me if they changed their mind and walked outta there. The search continues!

When I was looking I estimated roughly $0.10/mile depreciation for a truck. If I could find what I wanted for less than that I buy used, more I buy new. I bought new.

At some point you cross over to the point of not being worth dealing with someone else's problems. The equation probably shouldn't be linear, but it is a decent reality check.

You can probably keep a Toyota alive for 100k by just topping of oil, but it won't last much longer doing that. Check the history.

Out here, there is a larger gap in resale value between AC and DC. More and more people prefer to have the DC, so figure at least a $2K spread for this difference alone.

I just sold my 2010, PreRunner, DC, V6, SR5 with 57K miles to CarMax and they were excited to hand over a check for $20K for the truck.

http://www.cudlautosmart.com/Research/Article.aspx?pageId=24&articleID=3lug that VIN into this link: http://www.cudlautosmart.com/Research/Article.aspx?pageId=24&articleID=3

see what comes up on Black Book. If you look at it verify that yes it is a real TRD. Bilstein, Coil springs...the specs for a TRD are on here

All in all...I'd say the price is high. Had the same thing happen to me with a dealer. You may find it sold to another dealer locally and get it for what you want to spend. You can track it on Cars.com perhaps or by the VIN number

I would think you could get a new style model for that kind of money. A 12 or 13. Does seem a little high.
