After looking over the vled kits I'm going to hold off I think I'm just going to install amber LEDs and put the switchback feature a side for now.

I did the same thing, bought these 6 months ago and when I realized the turn signal socket only had 2 wires going into it i put the "switchback" function aside. I ended up pulling apart one of the licence plate lights for its electrical connections (didnt need it after i put my trailer plug in that spot). I inserted one of the terminal connections into each of the blank spots in the turn signal sockets and powered them off of the corner markers/parking light circuit. The work a little wonky with the DRL still connected but works great when its disabled. I think i bought the "3157 switchback" bulbs from IJDMTOY with the load resistors for the rear incandescent bulbs... The hardest part was getting access to the M1 Green/red stripe DRL feed into the backside of the fuse panel under the steering wheel

so all you had to do was add that third wire and the switchbacks started working? is it possible to tap into a different wire for a power source? or do you need to run it back to the drl harness under the dash?

Yeah I chose the parking lamp circuit so I can control the on/off of the "clear" LED portion of the switchback bulb. I spliced into this circuit under the hood near the headlamp assembly. So when ignition is on and I roll the lamp switch one notch, the clears come on... if I then engage the turn signal OR 4 way button, the bulb will "switch" to amber. Hope this helps

Yeah so I definitely used parking lamp circuit. The red wire is spliced from the pking circuit up by the headlight housings and stuffed into the empty or blank spot in the turn signal socket... energizing parking lights = clears coming on

new problem if anyone can help... i installed my switchbacks and they work fine when the headlights are on but when the headlights are off they stay amber and don't turn white. it seems like the drl function is bypassing my white bulbs and making them stay amber. is there anyway to fix this so my switch backs work with and without the headlights on?

What circuit did you use to power the blank or third spot on the switchback light socket? Since i used the parking lamps, this circuit HAS to be powered ON at all times @ the switch on the steering column for the switchback function to work... I assume you are talking about when you have the steering column light switch at the OFF position you end up experiencing the issue your having? Did you cut the DRL wire under the dash?

I just got around to installing these. I wired everything up with a relay coming out of the signal box under the steering column as the instructions I got form csjumper instructed to do, but I am no getting any turn signal at all now. Has anyone encountered that? I tested all my wiring to make sure that everything was connected and it all has power, but i don't have anything happening when i signal in the truck. It doesn't even indicate on the dash that it is signaling. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have sent you a message to see what you have going on. This isn't normal so there is something wrong. I sent you a pm so to stop from getting you confused. Let's see what you have wired up and what isn't wired correctly in order to fix the issue.

Sorry old tread but I have three wires on my DRL turn signal light. Which wires do I need to tap into for my relays? Without relays the lights work like they should I just need to get rid of the hyper flash and I do not know which wires are which. I just know that both sides have a white wire with black stripe and the other two wires are different colors. I just need to know what wires to tap into.

For 2005 ~ 2015 Toyota Tacoma, the front turn signal socket is 3157 4157NA CK / SRCK socket, if you purchase the standard socket led bulbs, which will cause the pop out the fuse. Please click here to find the correct CK / SRCK led bulbs (Please check the General Specification & Features to see whether it fits the CK /SRCK)

If you install the led dual color white yellow switchback bulbs, but if you meet the issue of the DRL turns amber, because the tacoma has only two wire positive and negative on signal/DRL light, but There is an extra empty slot for another wire. All you have to do is insert another wire there and tap/connect it to 12v wire like cigarette wire. This will turn on the white light. on your switch back. The only tricky part is the drl light was tap in with high voltage to the signal light when you turn on the engine the drl light will come out and the amber light will back again. You need to disable the DRL light just cut the DRL wire at the back of fuse box inside panel or replace it with the non drl relay. and it will turn off the amber and will come out the white light.

And if you meet the turn signal hyper flash, this because led bulbs draw much less current than stock lamps, it may require to install the load resistor to avoid the signal hyper flash.

Alla, are you saying that once I have powered the third hole in the DRL socket from another source (whether that's a add-a-circuit from the engine compartment fuse panel, or parking lamps) then I need to cut a wire coming from the DRL relay under the dash? Does anyone have pictures to help a challenged guy out? I love the switchback look but have been struggling with the same amber only issue as others have with my Canuck Truck. Thanks
