We had a comparison on kings and icons.
    Ride quality, both the same.
design wise, the icons were better than kings
really depends on what you want to pay for.

I think you would be happy with either one

I ran kings, I'd buy icons since I'm on the road 85% of the time.

Or you could do what I plan on doing.. I'm on OME front to back (minus dakars, running iron man), when something breaks just upgrade.

I did this, was a smart move. I was puck and AAL. I now have Icon extended travel w/res front and back. Icon shocks are digressive so the faster the compression rate the softer they get IIRC. So you really need to make sure with icons that you order the right spring rate.

Some knowledge for ya, OEM springs are progressive (they get stiffer as they compress) and most after market springs are not. I have a lot of armor on my truck and the icon 600lbs springs aren't enough. I'll be ordering 700lbs springs this year probably because with the digressive shock I bottom out really quick and smash my bump stops every time.

My understanding is that kings are progressive shocks and will get stiffer as the rate of compression increases. that might might be import for you if you are doing jumps and stuff. I'm not sure, I'm not an expert on this.

Keep in mind that these are coil overs and not struts! What that means is you will need to competely remove them and rebuild them. You can do it yourself or ship them to ICON for example.

This is the route I'd go, if I were you. It'll probably be more than adequate.

The general consensus is 'pick a color'. However there may be subtle differences that may make you prefer one over the other. In regards to valving, if you want it done right, you can order custom valving.

No reason to if an OME kit that is a fraction of the price of just the coil overs and it does what you need it to. You could run an OME kit for prob 100k+miles without issues, or 10k miles and you break a strut.

The truck is nice, the owner's are pretty dumb however.
