It's something people that live in non-free states are forced into submission with to remind them who controls their lives.

I just finished up this little build. Wanted a fairly compact AR with a full 20" sight radius. I haven't put any rounds through it yet but I'm pretty happy with is so far. Total cost for the build was around $650.00 with FFL fees, shipping, etc.

If that's a PSA Dissipator upper that you changed the handguard for do some research online because they had some QC issues on quite a few of them. As I recall the front sight post had gaps around the barrel and a few other things so do some Googling and make sure yours is within spec.

Got that through Midway USA a while back. I believe it is a Del-Ton upper.

Anybody on here know if it's okay to use ammo that have steel casings at the shooting range?

depends on the range, but general rule of thumb is if a magnet will stick to the bullet, it's a no-go. Some ranges will only test the bullet. Some will test both bullet and casing.

They trip about steel case cause they can't make money reloading. But most are strick about bi metal and/or steel core. My area is fine with bi metal and steel case but not steel core cause it's armor piercing.

In my experience, they don't like steel casings because when they collect spent brass at the end of the day or shift, they have to sort through it and separate or toss out steel cases.

They either reload and sell with that brass or.they sell the casings to reloaders, so that extra step means extra time and extra money.

If the range doesn't specify then you're gtg.

Two of the three ranges here will allow steel cased ammo because you're expected to pick up your cases and keep em, throw them away or whatever. The third one doesn't allow steel cased ammo and they won't let you keep your brass. I shoot at a sportsmen's club where you're expected to clean up your area(s) and I usually leave with more brass than what I came with.
