I'm gonna order new lock nuts and look into the XL chassis, if it's not too expensive. I think I would have held my own for the first few hundred feet if I could plant the power..

 

I'm thinking of going 10s since I have all these lipos laying around

Looks like the XL kit is $42 shipped, too rich for my blood. But I put in a $3 bid on some center shafts that end tomorrow, and $5 on a pair of TVP's that end tomorrow also. I put in $5 on a second set of TVP's that ends Tuesday as a backup. Willing to go up to $15 shipped on the TVP's, and $10 shipped on the shafts. Gonna wait on the wheel nuts until next month when by ebay bucks arrive

I found Baja wheel hubs for $30, but can;t even think about affording the wheels and tires lol

?????... The Savage is cheaper...

 

There are a few things the Yeti needs out of the box. Mostly going over it and checking all the bolts to make sure they are tight and getting aluminum wheel hexes.

 

And initially I wanted to get a DJI quadcopter... I always liked the flying thing more than the ground thing though...but the neighborhood TW kids all have RC cars...lol

 

Well...when I do...you'll be the first person I consult with...

A quad can never do this...
And those are 800mm blades. The rotor diameter is almost 6 feet!
I can do some of those tricks... but not that close to the ground

I'm just running the old HPI Nitro GT-1 body that came with the SS kit. I been eyeballing that black and orange GT-4 for the XL though... But I know it would get best up so I can't bring myself to get one lol

No need though, my body was mostly clear already lol. I mostly need to figure out a better body pin option

If you're looking at getting a savage you can drive mine first? Gotta do a few more repairs but no big deal. Mine won't be as powerful as a Flux HP, but same size and a lot of the same parts.

I still have all of my heli's; 3 fixed pitch, 2 collective, 2 coaxial, and a nano quad. I only fly the quad indoors now. Too much wind around to fly any of then outside. And heli parts are crazy expensive!!!

 

I love turbines!!! My cousin built one out of an old turbo charger a long time ago. I have wanted one of my one ever since he let me fire it up and run the after burner in the driveway! But for the money guys out into those scale turbine helicopters if rather get an FR-S and turbo it..

 

Looks like the same body for air wolf. Always wanted one but not for the price.

Well I paid about $15 for the TVP, $10 for the driveshafts, and $5 shipping for an extra 2.5". If I knew I would be getting tires then might have waited, but can't do anything about that now

All installed, just gotta fix the Tx (again) then I can go for a test drive!

It looked just like Mile's before, with the motor about at the rear shock tower



Now you can see how much room there is behind the motor



I had to move some stuff around to make it fit back on my shelf!

 

Looks great! Much more stable. let me know if you need a new body. So I can smash that one too
