    Guys,

I own a 2014 4x4 but I honestly don't see the difference in buying any upgrade model as I find it to be a toyotas way of getting us to spend more. Yes I guess the rear locking diff is a tad better but the base 4x4 v6 4door is more than enough isn't it?

I don't get why people worry about baja or trd models when the base 4x4 is enough…plz tell me why?

    really curious.

I wanted cruise control and remote keyless entry, so I got the convenience package.

    I don't understand?

    WHY?

    Plz tell me....

Why do people want the new 60" high def super slim TVs when a TV from the '20s could work.
Why do people want riding lawn mowers when an old school push mower (one without any kind of motor) works just as well?
Why use full synthetic oils when conventional oil has the same viscosity as as it's synthetic counterpart? They both keep things lubed.

A-Trac and rear locker are a huge improvement over base 4x4.

For whatever reason most people really like having power locks and windows. More people probably wonder why people would want a vehicle without power windows and locks.

The only thing I've added to my truck is cruise control. I prefer my truck not to have power windows and lock. It's just one more thing to break. I also feel like less of a prick because I don't have keyless entry. Most people don't have similar taste as me which is probably why Toyota discontinued the 4x4 Regular Cab.

I went "almost" base 4x4, mine has the convenience and tow package. I did it solely on the fact that truck met my needs.

I bought an SR5 package truck, to get the convienience package of power windows and locks. From there, I upgraded what I wanted, to get the truck that meets my needs, for less than Toyota would have charged to get those things. For instance, I added foglights with an OEM switch for $150, a rear LSD that I got, when someone I know pulled his out of his truck with 10k km's on it, and had it installed for a total of $800. Those were the two things I wanted. But to get those separately, I would have had to pay an extra $5k on the truck. Not what I wanted to spend. I used the money I saved to upgrade what I wanted, and I'm happy with my truck.

Oh yeah, and I got a color matched grill surround for $180. The chrome bumper was taken care of, when I was rear ended, and I had the body shop get a primered bumper and paint it black.

sometimes the answer is just because I can... I really don't give a crap what anyone thinks about why I bought a Baja - I bought it because I can, and because I wanted it. If I wanted yet another vehicle to wrench on I wouldn't have bought a NEW tacoma at all - I wanted a vehicle that was smaller than the 70k$ F250 I was trading in and still capable of towing my boat and going 4wheeling... so when I paid 45k for my Tacoma, as far as I was concerned it was a bargain!

Loaded up Baja, added SC before it even left the lot, supercharger was on it with < 6 miles on the odometer.

I got my TRD Sport mainly because it was the only 4x4, double cab, stick shift in the area...

...and the Outside temp display/compass, auto-dimming rearview mirror, fog lights... My sport also has a backup camera, but don't care much about that since I rarely look at it.

Heck, the TRD packages really aren't enough for me. I'm adding heated seats, possibly leather down the road, and I really want heated mirrors.

Besides the useful options, the TRD Sport really is a great looking truck.

x2 ... love my regular cab because of the basic features.

There are electronic devices being used by thieves to break into keyless entry vehicles. Glad I only have key entry!

I went with SR5 because I didn't need the extras, and it was the only DCSB 6speed v6 in the surrounding area.

This will be my first non-heated seats/mirrors in a while though. Very convenient in winter; wish I had.
