GSP. She's a beaut. Took her to a couple shows. She did real well. Probably wont continue to championship level, though. Pain in the ass. Rather hunt. Note: I am not in this photo. Just sayin'

    Nice bird and dog pics!

My Toller is getting old and going down hill fast. 2 weeks ago picked up a 5 year old fully finished English Setter. Last week got him out on some game farm birds. He needs to loose some weight but been working on it and already has. Still one of the biggest ES I've ever seen.

First point on phez for me, soaking wet he went for a swim first which is fine. Hasn't meet a mud puddle he doesn't like yet.

We did some homing pigeons and kill pigeons to test steadiness, steady as a rock. Also got the pheasants (I'd hope so LOL being pen birds no Kevlar feathers). Nothing wrong with Beretta 20 ga. O\U's :) Wild birds I usually carry the Benelli 12 ga. UL but now that I've gone back to a pointer, hmmm.

Leave in a few days for a week for the Mn. Arrowhead ruff grouse hunting. Then Nov. 1-15 in SD with a group of other retired military guys phez hunting each year including this one. With luck some sharptails too.

Her name is Sadie, and she turned two years in March. She does have her AKC Junior Hunter title. Hopefully we'll get her Senior Hunter cert this year. My MOB last year delayed everything.

    Baby picture. 9 weeks.

Great looking pup! And dog... Good luck on her Sr. Hunter title, I wish you well. They get old so fast, then again we do too.

My Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever when he was a pup kept getting under foot when I was at the loading bench one night. So I picked him up and put him in an old keg of Red Dot gunpowder and thought it would make a good picture. Snapped it right before he climbed out and was back under foot and have been using it as my avatar for more than 10 years.

Now he is an old man but doesn't want to stop hunting. The vet said don't stop him from doing what he loves to do but he can't go long or far. But I still try to get him some bird work when I can for a little bit. The memories that you 2 build will last the rest of your life and I wish you many great ones.

Saw this son of a bitch while grouse hunting.
No buck tag, a shotgun with #4 pheasant loads at 200+ yrds on private property. FUCK!!

Zoom with your phone, best I can offer.

He does look decently wide, question is how far outside of the ears? He's pretty tall though. From that distance it's hard to tell, but my guess would be 19-20" inside spread. Gotta love those situations when they are up on a hill like that and can see their width. I several years ago saw this monster 11 point whitetail with a drop tine off his main beam up on a hill leaving a wheat field I was hunting. Right after I checked him out with the binoculars he disappeared behind the hill. Even though I would have pulled the trigger, it just reassured me the big ones are still out there.....

He was out about 210 yrds. I didnt have a scope, binocs, nothing but a shotgun. I was hunting grouse. So I dont really know his true size, judging by his ears, I would say he went 24" tall, plus he was huge bodied. He is definately a wall hanger. I saw one muley in the 80's that beats this guy, I thought that one was an elk for a minute, in central NV.
Plus, I dont have a deer tag for here so its all a pipe dream anyhow. Just nice to see. We sat there looking at each other for about 30 minutes in the falling light before he moseyed off.
