    The biggest shock those pictures gave me was the height and size the flames in that middle picture. I don't live in wildfire territory at least in my life so far, and never thought that flames towered so astronomically tall. Not sure what that says about me, but that really hit hard for me.
    It gives a completely new perspective for the third picture. :(

    Yeah, fire is an amazing thing. Gotta figure those trees are probably 30-40 ft tall. And pine trees burn like paper and gasoline.

    It's crazy how a large forest fire creates it'd own weather. Sucking so much air it needs to burn.

    Holy cow, those fire pictures... I'm gonna sound like a jerk saying this, but I'm glad I live in Virginia. Last wildfire I remember around here was when I was still in school or fresh out of school. Parts of the Great Dismal Swamp were on fire. I don't think it was anywhere close to what some of y'all have seen.
    I'll take a hurricane over a fire any day.

    I love watching tornadoes and going to the beach in hurricanes (not going in the water, of course) but hate the destruction that comes with it. I reckon it's terrible, but it's also fascinating.
