Depends how its wired in unless there is a fuse in my radio I don't have a fuse on that power line... Its just directly to the battery...

I never fried a stereo but I fried a TV once... Sparks were flying out like fireworks and the plastic was burning...

I fried chicken once too... But that was just right :hungry:

That was my original plan, but I really wanted to try this mount / location install, and I'm a little OCD and go nuts if wires and stuff are running around.

A lot of the reviews I read online show that the walkie talkie ones only go like 1/2 mile and in the woods will barely go around a curve. Not sure if they're right or not. Though they do say everything you ready on the internet is true. Bonjourno!

Yea, I realized later last night that if I had looked closely, it indicated there wasn't one. It was my stupidity, not there's.

Thanks for the offer! I am actually heading down to my parents today to put a new blower fan resistor in their Grand Prix and go out to a late lunch / early dinner. Josh's house is pretty much on the way to theirs, so I'll try to meet up with him. If not, I may take you up on it.

You've never tried to get it right!

A handheld is a waste of money. Get a good radio, even my cobra 75 works great. It's not rocket science. You just tried using miscellaneous used parts. Buy new coax, new mounts, and be done with it :)

Yea I need some coffee. I think I should get a keurig for the bedroom

CB install complete. Now just have to tune it. Can hear some people in the background, so it's at least working.

Thanks guys. Yea, I had to go with the folding one. One time when I went to dinner in Morrison with the old truck, I had to park in a garage and hit every truss on the way in and every truss on the way out. Had a lot of people laughing.

I think I may need to steal that idea Mike. It will solve some antenna issues I am having currently.

Or use a quick disconnect and throw it on when you need it

I had the folding piece at first, couldn't get a good tune with it. If you use a spring you can just bend it over and hook it on something.

Haha I've been eyeing for a number of years. Figured if I was going to do a radio install, I was going to do it right this time.

I tried that on my '99 and kept forgetting to put it back in. Eventually I rusted it out.

That's an interesting point. Will be curious to see if I run into that problem. I borrowed Josh's cable to tune it, but it was dark by the time I got home tonight. Will try for tomorrow night and see how it goes.

Statistically you have a better chance of being killed by lightning than a fatal black bear attack

I thought I read it was the first ever black bear fatal attack in NJ
