Chillin at the dealership waiting for my lights to be replaced. Don't forget to tell them to aim them for you if you've got a lift ;) they're even going to hand wash my truck when they're all done

This is awesome news. I tried to get this covered with the TSB and extended warranty but was denied. I'll go right back to the same dealer, which I bought the truck from, and see what they say. I'm sure I'll get the "don't know" answer at first. Gonna download this on my phone so I can show them in person.
    SOB's.

The local dealer didn't flinch. No trouble at all. Said they would order the parts today and call me when they come in. Even though they won't be the cool darker reflector color for the 09s they will be brand new. Stoked.

took my 09 in last night brought the extended warranty paperwork. The service guy jumped to the "secondary coverage line" initially, but I pointed out the no mileage limitation under the "primary coverage" and he went right ahead and ordered the lights for me. They said about 3 days to get the parts
    in.

Update: got the lights installed today. The new inner lens is glass to prevent heat damage.

Just had mine replaced today at Puente Hills Toyota.
I noticed when I got home that I have no DTRL.
    Was this disconnected?
Side parking lights and turn signal in the headlight work.
Anyone else notice the same or is there a blown fuse.
I took pictures before I took it in. They were working.

I think LED is brighter and works just fine as a DRL. I got the white/amber switchback type, it's white as a DRL and changes to an amber turn signal.

    Here's what it looks like:
    20140717_2023231_cbd3a1f27d5787ebc4215abafbfd9d80bb45b61e.jpg

And here's the location of the load resistor: (bronze color, next to the battery)
    20140717_194946_e87fbb04d1990210f5d2a4e003f74245f3e3c267.jpg

If the resistor is made of aluminum and mounted to metal, the heat dissipation will be adequate. The mistake is buying those cheap ceramic resistors and taping them to the wiring.

Bonus: your headlights will no longer have the "fried egg" look where the DRLs are. :)

Mine are at two different stages of gross yellow. I'm in the middle of the BHLM, do you think I could just leave them off while I have the headlight opened up? How would it effect the light?

I guess maybe I'll just tape it together and test it out tomorrow and see.

I was just denied. I don't even have DTRLs, but I'm between 05-11 and my VIN is in the range, the lenses are normally aged yellow, but I did see a tiny crack forming lol.

This lady was a total.....yeah. After dealing with her, I'm not ever doing business with this dealership. I wouldn't let them air up my tires.

I'd suggest to check out a different dealer if you have the bubbles forming.
I bought a set of headlight housings with the bubbling for $25, went in and they swapped them out with no questions asked.

Yea some dealerships are terrible. They'd probably be the dealership to fill your tires with winter air. And they'd probably put full synthetic blinker fluid before 10k blinks

Thank God for this forum. Came across this the other day just in time. Sitting waiting at the dealership now as new headlights are installed.
