So as the title says I hit a bunch of quikrete. Looking for input on what to check that I might not be thinking of. I was on the highway and going 60 mph and coming up to a stop light. A guy way in front of me lost his load of fence pickets stacked about 3-4 high with 10 bags of quikrete or so sitting on top of those. I must've looked away or something but it was dark and just came up on it too fast. Slowed as much as I could and centered up as well as I could as people were in the lane to my side and he was on the shoulder at this point. My truck is lifted so I dinged and maybe slightly bent my skid plate in front a bit but thats all I see there. In the rear I caught my rear differential and my passenger side shock mount has a bit of wood jammed in it (not much at all). Brake lines appear to be good, no leaks in the rear diff. and I can't tell if there are any new sounds. Seems like if I am going over something real rough it makes a bit of noise but couldn't even tell you if that noise was there before. From rolling around under there I can't find anything but would like some insight from the pros on this site. And I did get his information and help move the busted bags of quikrete. By the way, some bags appear to been untouched. Feel free to make fun, I feel silly for allowing this to happen. Usually a lot more defensive driver than that.

Check your oil pan and surrounding area for damage.

Call the guy and tell him you are taking you truck in for an alignment check at his expense since he caused it.

Make sure you didn't rip out any wiring or fuel or brake lines or shear the nub off of the leaf spring pack and shift your rear end.

And take it in for an alignment check which will indicate if anything is bent.

I will give him a call after work today and tell him I'll be going in for an alignment check to make sure nothing is bent and it will be at his expense. That is an excellent idea. Originally I was going to just pay for it myself but I know it was aligned well because I just had it done 2 months ago so shouldn't be at my cost. Also I'd like to ask him to pay for a new skid plate but it is the stock one and if I replace I'd like a better one. Might ask him to pay for a used stock one and just use the money for a better one. Depends if he wants to use insurance or pay out of pocket. I checked the oil pan but I'll get back under there and look again just to be sure.

It is a chuckle worthy story. But the way I look at it is that it could have happened to anyone. At least it was a slightly lifted truck and not a small car is how I'm looking at it.
