I actually believe it. I knew a seriously wealthy old dude, had all kinds of odd stuff like this. Had a four door Rubicon with $80k into custom suspension and lift mods, even had a 5.7 Hemi swap. We drove the thing maybe 10 times and never once off road.

Most seriously wealthy people that blow tons of cash on vehicles like this, are often too busy to enjoy these creations, and they ultimately never get used.

I bet it's still slow as molasses, even with the TRD supercharger. Looks cool though, I would drive the heck out of it on the weekends.

Yeah, there are lots of folks that do that sort of stuff...this one has definitely been off-road though... (The South Pole counts as "off-road," right?) :)

It would still be cool to have, just "because." I wonder what it will end up selling for???

If they sold it for 15k I would buy it right now. There is no way they are going to get all the money they put into it back out. It is cool but not 100k cool.

I wonder how legal those tires would be here in the US. I know here in Cali we have a limit on how far tires can poke out the sides without a full fender or mud flaps.

You can rig some shitty looking fender flares for cheap, I don't remember the material but it's basically thin plastic and you see it occasionally on high camber'd JDM type imports that are built in a certain Japanese style that I can't remember the name of at this moment.

Beyond that I think all we're limited to is ground to frame height in CA, but hell if I know.

    Edit: Bosozuku

Here's a visual aid. I know this guy.

Is it just me or is the stinger slightly off? Assuming they hit a polar bear or something.

So wait, what sort of modification needs to be made to hold an additional 2502 lbs of payload on a 2nd gen Tacoma? 8.34lbs x 300gal of fuel.
