    Hello TW!

I recently and unfortunatly acquired a 2008 Dodge Nitro. Fortunatly, it was free. I'm looking to get some new tires for it as the tires on it currently quickly turning into slicks.

The current size is 225/75/16. I was thinking about going to a 245/70/16 to give it a little wider stance.

The issue I'm having is finding 245/70/16's. Is there a more common tire size that is similar to the 245/70/16?

If there is not a similar size and i'm stuck with the 245, am I way off going with a 245/70/16? Is there an issue with this 225/75 to 245/70 swap?

    Thanks for any input!

Haha I am in agreement with all of you. I gave it to my wife, and she doesn't mind it. Don't worry, the tacoma still occupies the garage ;)

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
thats a good way to keep the puddles of grease and oil out of ur garage. and why not go with 245/75/16 since thats what comes on the tacoma's u should have an issue findin them as long as they fit. Or maybe look for something in a 235/75 splitting the difference

235/75 would be about 1/4" taller than the 245/70 and right in between width wize what u have and what u were looking for. here are a few options http://www.pepboys.com/tires/sbs/235/75/16/01595

Discount Tire Direct usually has alternate fitments on the website, and they are a Tacoma World vendor also...

Thanks guys for the replies. Its hard finding a tire store in Puerto Rico. Wish discount tire had a store here, thats where I got all my tacoma wheels and tires. Ugh only 2 more years I guess.

Go to any of the Costco stores in PR, they will order the tire for you, there are multiple choices in their website just show them the one you want. It usually takes a week or less for the tire to arrive to their store and its usually less than what you'll pay in local tire shops here in PR.

Might I ask how one comes across a 6 year old car for only free dollars? Because Dodge Nitro? Are they only worth like $13 these days or something?

Ah costco! I completely forgot about them.

So, its kind of complicated, but my wife moved out here after I got stationed here, and shipping her car was going to be close to $2,000 for a 04 cherokee from Seattle (which was only a little less than it was worth). We found someone else who was moving from PR to Seattle. We made a deal to swap the titles and not ship either car. So I guess it was sort of a trade? It was way more complex than that, but thats the super brief version.
