Cut & broke off some stuff.
Truck and motorcycle shops sell heat shields but often have good cosmetic finish you'll be paying for.
If you want cheap, make your own. Get some expanded metal and roll it around some 6 inch drain pipe to shape it into a cylinder. Then paint with high temp engine or grill paint. Actually, that might only be cheaper if you already have some paint and pipe laying around. But then again I'm not sure what shops charge for shields.

If it's for looks, small gap is ok. For actual heat shielding, I'd suggest at least 1 inch oversize to give 1/2 inch or more gap all around.

I've been searching this thread for a while but I can't track down the discussion about tube benders (found a few good posts though).

I'm looking to build red racks, and maybe sliders. Manual is fine, but I'd like the option to convert to hydro later down the road. I probably won't be able to fix it to the floor, so a portable type stand/cart would be best. Looking to spend ~$800-1,000 with at least one die set included in the price. Although going under budget is always an option.

    Any suggestions or firsthand reviews?

Question for ya'll about abrasive blasting. I've tried a few combinations of different guns/nozzles and media but anything I do seems to get clogged up easily. Dafuq am I doing wrong?

Is your media good and reeeeeeeaalllllly dry?
Edit: also if the media has been used on a lot of greasy and oily parts it tends to get sticky and clog up easily.
And I agree with singlecabguy on the model 32!

This is media that is on its first run through. Hasn't been recycled.

I'm retarded and bought a deadman valve today... came home and realized I don't know how I'm gonna siphon the media. How the F do you use it?? :anonymous:

Finished my new rear bumper tonight. Don't have a picture of the finished welding as it got dark.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

With a dead man valve you need a pressure blaster. Siphon fed suck I would get away from that if you can. You can try this one in a pinch You need a lot of air to blast so a 2 stage 220v compressor is best not sure what you have but at least 15cfm for a little pressure pot would be a min or you will be waiting for it to fill up with air.

We do a lot of blasting and run a 250lb http://industrialgoldsandblasters.com/ blaster and it works great but takes a lot of air about 30cfm I had to buy a 120gal 3 phase 440v 15 horse compressor to keep up with the demand of that blaster.

Damn. Is it safe to assume the compressor's lacking output is the primary reason for the clogging problems I've been having?
