These little trucks will tow more than it seems…
I was reluctant to buy this 14 foot toy hauler and thought I needed to upgrade my truck but after many outings to Pismo I am a believer….( and this is a two wheel drive)

Yeah, you are correct. I was worried my new taco wouldn't tow my boat well but it does just fine. I came from a supercrew f150 fx4 and I am impressed how well the taco tows for a small truck.

14 foot Carson Rebel. 3400 lbs dry wt. I figure maybe 4300 with the quad and gear stashed inside. Bought mine used ( in new condition) for $8200. Two fold down couches which convert to beds. All the creature comforts like shower, toilet, stove, heater, stereo…Flip down the rear ramp door and bust out your yard blower and all the sand blows straight out the back….Takes camping and makes it pain free...

That's super cool dude, love the blue bike in the back! Was curious how many bikes do you think you could fit in there max? With no quads.

I have a 2003 Tacoma TRD 4X4 6-cyl. 39,000 original miles. Bought it new. Later added the complete tow package. I tow an RV with nearly 4,000 lbs. dry weight. Electric assist brakes. No problems. With the tow package I had installed, Toyota told me that the max weight would be 6,000 lbs.
I don't think I'd tow any heavier. I drive carefully and don't "horse" my Tacoma. Stay the speed limit or less. Enjoy the drive!

    Hello,
I tow an RV Cruiser Fun Finder. Dry weight just under 4,000 lbs. My Tacoma is rated at 6,000 lbs. I'm towing with a 2003 Tacoma, bought new, with just 39,000 miles at present. TRD, SR5 Package, SS side steps, SS Westin Bull Bar, KC lighting, SS exhaust system guaranteed for life, bed cover, bed extender, upgraded stereo, all dents removed...PRISTINE CONDITION worth MUCH MORE than Kelly Blue Book.

I find no problems pulling this RV. Yes, it slows a little on hills. I stay in the right lane. I never "horse" my Tacoma. I'm not in a hurry and want it to last. Towing is really a state of mind. You must enjoy the ride and scenery as you go. I try never to tow more that about 3-4 hours in a day. I could go faster, but I don't want to ruin my Tacoma. I stay with the truckers, slowing on hills, gaining speed on the flats and downhill. It's really NOT a problem. I could go faster if I wanted to but I don't. If you want to JET at 75mph everywhere, then get a Tundra.

My '13 DCSB 2WD pulling my friend's boat. Loaded with gear, coolers, fuel, H2O tanks, etc... Figured it's around 5,200lbs. No problems pulling it out of the water at low tide. c1ce5db879a8159513dbe932d2ffac2e_d206318774c531f8c689dbeaf4b282456aa58f44.jpg

Thanks, it's not mine though. This was a "sea trial" for towing/ ramp capability. I'll have something behind it in the near future.
