That's OK, it's rapidly not becoming an option for those of us that still live here either! :p

do what i did, move to arizona from california. no CCW laws, so i can conceal with no permit, gun can be anywhere in the car, just as long as it's in a "case" (holster counts as a case) its great.

    ^^^This

Thats why I just left a few months ago. Could NOT take it any longer. Now, I can carry, I can go into a store, buy a long gun and walk out with it. Its nothing to see guys hunting when your driving. People dont look at you sideways when you open your door and there is a handgun in the door, becuase more than likely they have one or more in their vehicle. When you walk into a store wearing camo, the check out girls ask you if you got anything, and they mean game .

I heard an ad on the radio the other day for Browning Auto Loading Shotguns. Yep, I am starting to feel American again.

California just passed a law that lets a relative say your unfit to have a firearm and they can take them away.

depending on how I'm dressed for the day, either IWB or in my front pocket. If I am traveling on a road trip I will keep my Kimber in the center console, and the LCP still in my pocket on in the door pocket.

This is true for the sheriff in my county, but the next county north of me they're fairly easily obtained.

Up near Covelo, they practically push them onto you. Able to own a gun? Then you should have a CCW, here's the paperwork.

Did you use an RTI wheel or just 3M the holster to the inside wall of box? I was thinking of doing something similar on the side of my middle console with the G code holsters and RTI wheel. Good stuff man!

I leave mine in the Nemesis pocket holster when driving around town, knowing that I'd have a struggle getting it out. However, I leave a derringer BUG in the cell cubby to the right of the steering column. I figure any situation which occurred while I was in the truck, I'd be getting out, or, if not, the derringer would certainly take care of anything that short-ranged. If I'm on the road, I take the gun and holster out and stick it down between the console and passenger seat. BTW, it's a Kahr cm9.

AL has a strange contradiction in the handgun laws. On the one hand, we are "OC," in all places where carrying is allowed, whether one has the CCW permit or not (I do). OTOH, if one doesn't have a CCW permit, then the gun must be unloaded and the ammunition carried separately, out of reach of the driver or any passenger. If you don't have a permit, the only way to comply would be to unload the gun, place it, for one example, in one of the compartments under the rear seats, with a double cab, and place the ammo in the glove compartment. Upon reaching your destination, you get out of the truck, retrieve the gun, walk around to the passenger side, and, with your feet on terra firma, load the gun and proceed along your merry way. I'd like to think the legislature will see the problem and act on it, but there's good reason that our legislature is regularly rated the worst in the nation...

This holster and setup looks great in the picture, but I ordered one a few months back from Gum Creek and I was extremely disappointed when I got it. It doesn't snug up tight enough for it not to move under the steering column. I even try "breaking in" the strap for like 30 minutes running it back and forth through the clip but nothing worked and I ended up returning it. It's like the nylon strap is too thick to get it really tight.

I keep mine on me at all times, unless there is a law against it, which I will then hide in the truck... I plan to get a lock for the center console soon.
I carry a Sig P226 chambered in .40 S&W, for anyone curious. Also, I keep one in the chamber with full mag.

This travels in the front cubby when driving and in my pocket when out of the truck. We have open carry in Kansas which means several guys carry in a holster in the truck and when out of the truck.

You know, around here are a lot of well-meaning police officers who honed their reflexes in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc..
