looks like it is true. I entered in my vin for my 08 prerunner and it said there currently designing the part now and will notify us when there done making the fix. It's fo real!

 

So your plan is to spam every new spring recall thread with your nonsense so they can't even be merged ?

 

Sorry, I'll find more out. I'm on a ship getting ready for deployment so maybe others can chime in also.

 

This issue was reported on Monday. Do a scan/search for recall and leaf springs in the forum and you will find a couple threads already. That's why others said "merge" meaning the that the thread should be merged with the others to keep all the same subjects in one topic. There are links in the other threads to the Toyota announcements and affected vehicles ....

 

I tried looking up more info but each link takes me to the same info or similar. Only thing I got out of other links was you can still drive it but be cautious because it can puncture the gas take. The leafs are cracking and breaking and even the mounting plates. I guess this would really be for those that are in the rust prone areas of the country.... Toyota is replacing parts for no cost.
